The Young and the Restless Thursday, May 14 Recap: Jack’s Long-Lost Daughter
The Young and the Restless The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, May 14, reveals that Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) will dream some shocking news while Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) uses Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) to her advantage with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). In Diane’s suite, she’ll leave Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) a voicemail in hopes of stopping by the house and talking things out. Diane will finally be ready to discuss moving forward, but then she’ll have a horrible nightmare.
In that nightmare, Diane will dream that Jack has already moved on with Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) and that she’s now living with him in the Abbott mansion. Diane will also dream that Patty somehow didn’t miscarry after all since Patty will gloat about Jack’s long-lost daughter surviving. As the nightmare continues, Patty will play up the family reunion and suggest Diane can meet their daughter before they throw her out.
Jack will ultimately tell Diane goodbye before she wakes up startled. At Society’s bar, Jack will sit by Patty and get her to admit Victor paid her to spend time with him on the yacht, but she would’ve done it for free. Patty will also concede that although she didn’t drug Jack, it’s possible Victor was behind the spiked whiskey.
That said, Patty would much rather believe it was their chemistry that drove them to do what they did. Jack will want to put that night behind them and will seek Patty’s help getting revenge on Victor. Since Jack may have lost his own wife, he’ll want to make sure Victor loses Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) for good.
Patty will wonder what’s in it for her, but she’ll ultimately assume they can come to some sort of agreement. Jack will acknowledge that if Patty helps him, it could go a long way toward him seeing her in a new light. Next on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Phyllis will book a GCAC suite for Matt under her name and get him settled in.
Matt will think maybe he’ll go wander around town a bit more, but Phyllis will push him to stay put since the Newmans are after him. Although Matt will suggest maybe he could make amends, Phyllis will shut that idea down, too. Phyllis will explain that the Newmans are a powerful family and insist they aren’t good people.
After Phyllis urges Matt to stay inside his room and relax, she’ll agree to have breakfast with him in the morning. Once Phyllis leaves, Matt will mull over his head injury and flash back to a fierce faceoff when Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) was attacking him. That’ll leave Matt more confused than ever as he wonders who that guy was and why he can’t remember.
As Phyllis saunters downstairs, she’ll bump into Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) and admit she’s prepared to make a deal with Victor. When Michael finds out Phyllis has Matt, he’ll realize this might actually work. Michael will insist on doing the talking when he goes with Phyllis to negotiate with Victor at the Newman ranch.
In the meantime, Victor will confront Nick over his plan to wipe Matt off the map and forbid it, especially since Nick’s still dealing with drug issues. Nick will have a meltdown over feeling so helpless and letting everyone down, so Victor will give him a comforting hug. While Victor and Nick are debating the Matt situation, Phyllis and Michael will show up.
Michael will wonder what Matt would be worth to Victor before Phyllis starts gloating about having him on ice. Phyllis will count on Victor to get Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) to drop the charges in exchange for Matt. Victor will insist he wants Newman Enterprises back as well, so he’ll urge Phyllis to “take it or leave it.” The Young and the Restless spoilers say the Matt drama is far from over in Genoa City, so stay tuned!
