The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease Patty Williams’ (Stacy Haiduk) family should be alerted about her latest tricks.

There’s one person who might be able to stop her, and that’s her brother, retired Genoa City Police Department chief Paul Williams (Doug Davidson).

Patty’s Return Has Shaken Things Up

Patty’s comeback has undoubtedly stirred things up in the CBS soap, and it’s quite a surprise to see her released from the mental health facility, diving back into her old antics with renewed intensity!

As Patty gets entangled in the ongoing conflict between Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), she’s creating chaos for everyone in Genoa City. Paul, Patty’s older brother, is fiercely protective of her.

He has played a significant role in many of her past storylines, but at the moment, he’s residing in Portugal. Fans believe it’s time for Paul to return for Patty’s current narrative.

Patty Is One Of The  Most Notorious Villains In Genoa City History

Patty is one of the most notorious villains in Y&R history, having caused turmoil on and off for more than forty years. Most of her misdeeds revolve around her ex-husband Jack, whom many blame for her villainous transformation.

Once a good girl who thought she had found her Prince Charming in Jack, her world fell apart due to his affair with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and her subsequent miscarriage, leading her into a downward spiral.

Despite seeking help for her mental health struggles, Patty frequently slips back into her bad girl persona. Over the years, she has inflicted considerable pain and suffering on The Abbotts and The Newmans.

Paul Was Always The Protective Big Brother

Despite everyone looking down on Patty, her brother Paul was always there for her-as her protective sibling, Paul consistently looked out for Patty, particularly when others attempted to exploit her.

With Patty returning and becoming a pawn in Victor’s conflict with Jack, Reddit users feel that Paul should make a comeback. “They just need to bring Paul back, even if it’s a recast. It doesn’t make sense for him not to return and support his sister,” the original poster stated.

“I think he is essential to this plot. He has always stood up for Patty,” one viewer commented. “I’d love to see him return, but I fear Patty won’t be around for long, unfortunately,” another fan expressed.

Paul Hasn’t Been Seen Onscreen Since November 2020, But Doug Davidson Won’t Return

Paul’s last appearance on screen was in November 2020-snce then, a lot has changed for the retired detective from Genoa City. His marriage to Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) ended, and he now lives in Portugal.

In 2024, tragedy hit when his daughter Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) was killed; Paul, overwhelmed with grief, missed her funeral due to a heart attack.

That was the last time the character was mentioned-with his sister Patty back in Genoa City, news will likely reach Paul soon.

Patty might need Paul’s help with her current troubles, but Mr. Williams seems unlikely to return;  Davidson has stated he is not interested in coming back.
