Tristan Rogers Set to Appear on The Young and the Restless – Scenes Shot Before Passing
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) announced on its social media platform that the late and great Tristan Rogers is slated to appear on the CBS soap this week. The actor is set to reprise his Colin Atkinson role during the Tuesday, August 26 show.
The episode will be a character-centric one, as Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) talks more in-depth about his time away from Genoa City, and will likely offer more details about how ‘Aristotle Dumas’ came to be.
As Colin played a key role in that evolution for Cane, he’ll be a part of tomorrow’s episode, and scenes were filmed before Rogers’ passing.
A video was uploaded on the Young and the Restless’ social media, which started with some words by Jess Walton, who plays Jill Abbott, Rogers’ onscreen love interest on the show.
In the video, Walton states that Rogers was a respected member of the soap community and a much-loved member of the Y&R family.
She goes on to say she, “… had the pleasure of being his scene partner for many years. I adored working with him.”
The video proceeded to feature an old scene between Jill and Colin, and the caption of the post read, “On behalf of the entire Y&R family, Jess Walton pays tribute to her long-time scene partner, Tristan Rogers, who makes his final television appearance on tomorrow’s episode of The Young and the Restless.”
The post caption went on to say, “As we revisit one of their most memorable scenes — an emotional moment between Jill and Colin from 2014— we are reminded of the lasting impact Tristan brought to our show, both on and off screen. He will forever be missed.”
Both General Hospital (GH) and Y&R fans are still mourning the loss of the iconic daytime drama actor, who passed away on Friday, August 15, at the age of 79.
He unfortunately lost his battle with cancer, but will forever live in the hearts of GH and Y&R viewers everywhere.
While Rogers is famous for his General Hospital role as the dashing, funny, and charming Robert Scorpio, Y&R fans also loved him as Colin Atkinson, who was a bit of a schemer, but just as charming and funny as the GH superspy-turned-lawyer!
Rogers played Atkinson, on and off, from 2010 to 2019.
The Young and the Restless spoilers note that as interesting as the August 26 episode will be, it’ll also be bittersweet as it not only marks Rogers’ final appearance on CBS, but the land of daytime drama, as well.
