The Young and the Restless Tuesday, March 31 Recap: Mariah’s Goodbye, Phyllis’ Portrait, Nate Grills Lying Victoria

After some bickering about that, Victoria will admit she’s got a “special delivery” since she just came from spending time with Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier) in Milan.

Once Phyllis is alone, she’ll read Summer’s letter and all the horrible things her daughter wrote. That letter will make it clear that there’ll be no forgiveness since selfish Phyllis has gone too far and will bring Summer’s goodbye.

Afterward, Phyllis will meet up with Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) at Society, so he’ll read Summer’s letter next.

Although Phyllis will think Summer was being too harsh, Daniel will suggest this is the price of taking over the Newman Empire.

Daniel will push Phyllis to give it all back or else she’ll have lost her family for good. Once Daniel leaves, Phyllis will wad up Summer’s letter and decide “to hell with” all of them since she doesn’t need anybody else. At the park café, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will talk to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) about Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) kidnapping plot.

Kyle will blame Victor for the trouble in his parents’ marriage since he put a “psychopath” from Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) past on the yacht, too.

Claire will argue that if Jack chose to betray Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters), that’s on him instead of Victor. Kyle will insist Victor put Jack in a compromising situation and will lash out at Claire for being just another steadfast Newman.

Claire will argue that she sees a side of Victor that Kyle doesn’t, but Kyle will feel like she’s refusing to see the real version of her grandfather. This confrontation will lead to Claire realizing Victor is always going to be an issue when it comes to whatever relationship she might have with Kyle.

At the Abbott mansion, Jack will leave Diane an apologetic voicemail before Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) shows up gloating about their spark.

Patty will needle Jack about Diane staying at the GCAC and push him to admit she rocked his world on the yacht. Jack will push Patty to leave and will get some help from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) once he arrives. Patty will ultimately head out, so Billy and Jack will have a chance to talk in private.

After Billy admits he’s going to see Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) in London, he’ll offer to stay behind if Jack needs him in Genoa City.

Jack will urge Billy to go patch things up with Jill so that at least one Abbott can have a happy ending. Kyle will meet up with Jack later and admit Diane still isn’t ready to see or forgive him.

Jack will refuse to let this be the end of his marriage and will insist there has to be some way to get through to Diane. At the Chancellor mansion, Devon Winters (Bryton James) and Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) will be upset over Mariah not receiving a real punishment for kidnapping Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark).

However, Nate will think a psychiatric facility may be the best place for Mariah since she can truly get better there.

Even so, Devon and Abby will worry about Mariah not getting prison time, especially since they weren’t even consulted about this. There’ll be concerns about what’ll happen when Mariah’s released from her facility and whether she might go after Dominic again. Abby and Devon will mull over how they can protect their family.

At the athletic club, Victoria will join Nate at the bar and fill him in on Summer’s letter to Phyllis.

Nate will ultimately bring up Victoria being in on the Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) kidnapping ruse and call her out for lying to him. Victoria will point out that she tried to subtly convey that Lily and the twins weren’t in real danger, but now she’ll see that it wasn’t enough and apologize.

After Nate expresses disappointment in Lily for letting her family believe she was at risk, Victoria will hope Nate can get past her own secrecy. Nate will push Victoria to tell him what would’ve happened if she hadn’t known Lily was in on the ruse.

How far would Victoria go to get the Newman empire back?

At Crimson Lights, Mariah will enjoy a quiet moment with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) that almost feels normal, so they’ll savor it since Mariah’s about to begin her mental health treatment. Although Mariah previously agreed to let Tessa come with her to the psychiatric facility, she’ll change her mind and want Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) to take her alone. Tessa will object at first, but Mariah will convince her that she’d rather remember this happy moment with Tessa and cling to hope.

Tessa will assure Mariah that she’s so loved and will give her a hug.

After Tessa promises she’ll be waiting with Aria Porter-Copeland (Maddie and Millie Ingle), Mariah will exchange an “I’ll be seeing you” with her and head off following one last embrace. Daniel will eventually arrive at the coffeehouse and find Tessa there alone.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Tessa and Daniel will face some surprising news soon enough, so stay tuned. CDL will have other great Young and the Restless spoilers and news for you, so make us your top Y&R source.
