The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Tuesday, January 6, indicate that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will need surgery after a crash. Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Sienna Bacall’s (Tamara Braun) past will also be revealed, so here’s what Y&R fans can look forward to.

After Nick slams on his brakes and crashes his car, Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will get away before Nick regains consciousness.

Nick will finally come to and call Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to let him know about the accident.

Once Nick is hospitalized, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will all gather around his bed.

Nick will explain how Matt got the upper hand by choking him and forcing the crash, which gave Matt an opportunity to flee.

Noah will worry about Sienna being vulnerable, especially since she won’t be answering her phone.

While the others are distracted, Noah will sneak back to the cottage to make sure Sienna is safe.

As for Nick, he’ll have a fractured left fibula and will be prepped for surgery.

Fortunately, Nick won’t have any other significant injuries or internal damage.

At the cottage, Tessa will show up looking for Sharon and will be taken aback when Sienna answers the door.

It’ll quickly become obvious that Sienna and Tessa know each other, so they’ll talk about the days when Sienna was a roadie for another band.

Sienna met Tessa because she was playing gigs with Tanner Watts (Chase Colemand) at the time.

Tessa will wonder how Sienna knows Sharon and the Newmans, so Sienna will admit she’s involved with Noah.

Sienna will also mention her marriage to Matt aka “Mitch Bacall” and his horrific history with Sharon as well as Nick.

At one point, Tessa will explain that she’s married to Noah’s half-sister, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), and will give Sienna updates on her daughter, Aria Porter-Copeland (Maddie and Millie Ingle).

Once Noah comes home, he’ll be relieved to see that Sienna is fine.

Noah will catch up with Tessa briefly and realize she knows Sienna from another area of their lives.

After Noah admits Nick’s in the hospital following a car crash, he’ll reveal that Matt is on the loose again.

Sienna will worry Mariah could be a target too, but Tessa won’t think so since she’s out of town.

In the end, Sienna will suggest that the only way to stop Matt may be putting a bullet in him.

As for Matt, he’ll be on the ground struggling with his still zip-tied hands in an alley somewhere.

Matt will declare that Nick is a dead man before a shadow appears nearby as someone arrives and gets his attention.

At the GCAC, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will leave Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) a voicemail and push him not to ghost her.

Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will come along with questions, but Phyllis will start grilling him about his relationship with Tessa and warning him about the possibility of a broken heart.

Phyllis will face Daniel’s interrogation about her potential deal with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), so she’ll admit she asked them to sign over Marchetti to Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier) in exchange for her help.

Phyllis will have grand plans for Marchetti to be their new family empire, but Daniel will push her to stop all the scheming since it never ends well.

Although Daniel will want Phyllis to do things honestly instead of manipulating the situation, she won’t think that’s how the world works.

Instead of hindering her efforts, Phyllis will push Daniel to help her win.
