The Young and the Restless Tuesday, April 7 Recap: Malcolm Dying, Needs Bone Marrow Donor

On Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) train, an employee will deliver an abysmal financial report that indicates there’s nothing left of Arabesque.

Cane will resolve to take what other people have built instead, even if it means kidnapping for ransom since that’s apparently the way people do business in Genoa City. When Cane’s employee balks at doing something criminal, Cane will fire him on the spot.

At the GCAC, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will bump into Devon Winters (Bryton James) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), but she’ll have to skip eating with them since she’ll be meeting someone. Devon will hope it’s not Cane, but then Malcolm will walk in for a little family reunion.

After greeting everyone, Malcolm will ask to speak with Lily privately and head down to the jazz lounge with her.

That’ll leave Devon and Nate speculating about what’s going on. When Cane arrives, he’ll make it clear that he’s not going anywhere despite Devon wishing he’d leave town. Cane will still have big plans in Genoa City, but Devon will promise to personally come after him if any of those plans involve Lily or his family.

However, Cane will make it clear that he wants nothing to do with Lily or her family business.

After Malcolm gathers strength from Neil Winters’ (Kristoff St. John) portrait, he’ll admit to Lily that he’s been diagnosed with aplastic anemia and needs a bone marrow transplant.

Lily will be grateful for the chance to potentially save Malcolm’s life since she felt helpless when Neil passed away. Once Malcolm and Lily head back upstairs, they’ll keep his condition a secret from Devon and Nate for now.

Malcolm will also have a chance to warn Cane away and let him know no one wants him around.

In Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) office, she’ll strike a business deal and gloat about it to Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) over the phone. Phyllis will tell Lauren they don’t need anyone else before heading to the athletic club.

Once Phyllis catches up with Malcolm briefly, she’ll push Cane’s buttons and assume he’s sticking around Genoa City to get revenge on her as well as Lily and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

At Crimson Lights, Holden will look at a text from his mom that says she’s running late and on her way. Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will pop up and get into another argument with Holden about Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) soon after.

When Holden acts like he might tell Claire the whole truth about Los Angeles, Audra will turn menacing and act like she’ll make his life miserable if he does. Stephanie will walk in and demand answers from the woman threatening her son!

Holden will smooth things over and suggest they just play around like this, so Audra will eventually extend her hand to meet Stephanie.

Stephanie will be reluctant at first, but she’ll ultimately cool off a bit. Once Stephanie is alone with Holden, she’ll make it clear that she doesn’t like or trust Audra. Talk will eventually turn to Stephanie’s reason for visiting, so Holden will worry this is about her health.

Stephanie will insist that’s not it, but she’ll have something to tell Holden that’s going to change his world.

As Stephanie gathers her courage on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, she’ll insist it’s time for Holden to learn the truth about his father. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Holden has some stunning news ahead of him, so stay tuned!
