The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Wednesday, January 7, indicate that Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will have a new conspiring partner while Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) confuses Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn).

For starters, Cane will find himself struggling to understand where Lily’s head is at.

Lily reciprocated their New Year’s Eve kiss and seemed into it, but she’ll presumably be distant with Cane on Wednesday’s show.

Since Lily will put her guard back up, it’ll leave Cane wondering where she stands.

Lily will send out some strange, conflicting signals and frustrate Cane since he just wants to move forward as a couple again.

Over with Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters), she’ll lash out at Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) for his defense of Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

Diane will fume over Nikki choosing to stand by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) despite his treatment of Jack, though she won’t be surprised!

Jack will defend Nikki since she’s married to his worst enemy and loves him for reasons Jack can’t explain.

It’s understandable that Nikki would want to keep her marriage float and try to keep her family together if possible.

Even so, Diane will be fed up with Nikki and won’t get why Jack is so loyal to her as a friend.

As for Nikki, she’ll become Michael’s conspiring partner on Wednesday’s Y&R episode.

There might be some talk about the AI program situation, but the missing Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) news is the more pressing matter.

Nikki might worry about Victor killing Matt instead of handing him over to the police and push Michael to help her intervene.

As for Matt, he’ll be at the mercy of a mysterious character who found him in an alley, so who’s it going to be?

Did Victor find Matt or perhaps the Newmans’ trusted security guard, Mortonson (John Rushing), who’s back this week?

Y&R may or may not reveal who’s behind the latest Matt discovery just yet, but we know Matt will end up at the ranch again in the coming episodes.
