Adam understands that Victor must’ve promised Lily something big in exchange for her cooperation on this whole kidnapping ruse.

With that in mind, Adam is growing increasingly nervous about what’ll happen once Victor is in charge of the Newman empire again.

Although Adam obviously wants Victor to regain control, he also knows that victory could give Lily a win of her own.

Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) thinks Chancellor is the logical answer when it comes to what Victor promised Lily.

However, Adam isn’t so sure based on his comments in Y&R’s February 20 episode since Victor doesn’t always take the obvious route.

That’s why Adam has a sinking feeling that somehow he’ll be the one who gets screwed over by the end of all this.

It seems likely Adam will be proven right, so let’s consider how things might play out.

Victor will want to get Newman Media back along with any other important divisions if he can, so what happens if he pulls that off?

There’s a chance Lily wanted Newman Media in exchange for helping with this kidnapping ruse, so she may end up in charge of it.

In other words, Adam may not be able to reclaim the Newman Media throne and could wind up demoted to some little corner of Newman Enterprises that he doesn’t like.

Chelsea would be affected by that arrangement too, so that’d give Adam another reason to lash out.

It’s also possible that Victor indeed promised Chancellor to Lily, but he could still betray Adam through Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) consolation prize.

Nikki used to run Newman Media, so Victor might give it back to her and expect Adam to work under his wife!

Regardless, there must be a reason why Adam’s so worried about Victor betraying him.

It’s probably foreshadowing Victor’s hurtful move and Adam’s outraged reaction since he’s been loyal to Victor for a while now.

Adam may feel like that loyalty has gotten him nowhere and explode once bad news hits hard.

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest Victor and Adam’s father-son bond could blow up in a big way, so stay tuned.
