The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, March 23, reveal that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will have some surprises brewing while Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) gets summoned for a critical reason.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will also walk into some danger, so plenty of stunning news is on the way.

Before we dive in, we have a quick programming note to pass along.

Y&R will be preempted for March Madness basketball coverage on Thursday, March 19, and that’ll be followed by another preemption on Friday, March 20.

Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait too long for things to pick back up in Genoa City and Las Vegas.

The show will return with a brand-new episode on March 23, which is also when Tina Casciani will kick off her comeback stint as Riza Thomson.

Adam will expect to greet his old friend and handler, but he’ll find Riza armed and ready for a fight instead!

Once Riza ambushes Adam with a gun, she’ll start barking instructions and will force him to put his hands behind his head.

Of course, Adam will do his best to calm Riza down and convince her that he’s the same old “Spider,” even if he really isn’t.

Riza may be willing to lower her weapon, but she’ll clearly be on edge over Adam’s arrival and what he really wants.

Will Riza essentially be doing Matt’s dirty work for him? Riza obviously knows “Spider” is really Adam Newman, so Matt may have warned her that the Newmans could come searching for him.

Adam may try the story of wanting to get back into gambling to make money following the Newman empire’s toppling.

Will Riza really buy that or push Adam to come clean about looking for Matt?

Whatever the case, Matt and Riza seem to be romantically entangled, so Adam will have to be careful about how he handles all this.

Adam may try to get Riza back on his side, but her loyalty to Matt could be a problem.

Back in GC, Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) will ask Sharon to meet with her at the athletic club, where she’ll push for an urgent conversation about Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) ahead of her court date.

Mariah’s trial is rapidly approaching, so Christine will need Sharon’s assistance when it comes to getting through to her.

Since Mariah is struggling with shame over Dominic Winters’ (Ethan Ray Clark) abduction, she may revisit the idea of changing her plea to guilty.

Christine feels confident she can get Mariah into a mental health facility if she plays this just right, but she needs Mariah to stick with her not guilty plea so she can do her job correctly.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Christine will put Sharon on an urgent mission to talk some sense into Mariah, so stay tuned.
