The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) may get the upper hand on Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) once again.

Nick thinks he can be the one to finally take Matt down, but Matt may make another sneaky move and back him into a corner.

Matt will have Riza Thomson (Tina Casciani) on his side along with any other minions connected to her operation.

That could make it easy for Matt to catch Nick by surprise and potentially make him a hostage.

From there, it may be Matt’s turn to go up against Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and mess with his head.

Since Adam’s been uneasy about revisiting his past as “Spider,” Y&R may force him to do exactly that through a high-stakes poker game.

Based on behind-the-scenes set pics, we know a poker table will indeed be seen on-screen.

Adam used to be a card shark, so Matt might propose a very dangerous bet with him sooner or later.

Once Matt’s got Nick tied up somewhere, he might threaten the life of Adam’s brother.

Matt could insist he’s going to eliminate Nick unless Adam can beat him at a game of poker.

Since Nick’s already getting hooked on fentanyl, Matt might make sure he’s in danger of overdosing in captivity.

That would certainly raise the stakes for Adam as this potential poker game moves forward.

If Adam wins, Matt might claim he’ll disappear never to return – at least if he gets whatever amount of money he wants by now.

If Adam loses, Matt may promise he’s going to wipe Nick off the map and leave Adam to face the guilt of that loss.

Of course, there’s no guarantee Matt will keep his end of the bargain.

This could turn into a scary situation that goes beyond the card table if Adam’s forced into a physical altercation with Matt.

Regardless, Adam may soon find himself under a tremendous amount of pressure.

It could leave Adam with some emotional scars by the time he returns home to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Matt has some bad news brewing for the Newman brothers as this storyline heats up, so stick with the CBS soap.
