The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) may have a boyfriend swap brewing. Can Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) treat Claire better than Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and give her another romantic path forward?

Holden was there for Claire when Kyle was off playing games with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) in Nice.

Claire leaned on Holden when she had a panic attack and appreciated his support in the aftermath of Cole Howard’s (J. Eddie Peck) demise.

Since Holden lost his own father due to cancer, he was able to bond with Claire over her loss.

Y&R has slowly and steadily been building Claire’s friendship with Holden, which could turn into something more romantic sooner or later.

Claire is committed to Kyle at the moment, but there are some problems threatening to derail their relationship.

Now that Claire has turned against Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), she’s taking a bold stand for the sake of her romance with Kyle.

That’s why it’ll hurt Claire even more when Kyle inevitably lets her down like Victor predicted.

Trouble could easily strike thanks to Kyle lying about nothing happening with Audra in Nice when something indeed happened!

Just because Kyle wasn’t seriously interested in Audra doesn’t mean he behaved appropriately.

Kyle’s commitment to Claire should’ve stopped him from having his lips all over Audra and putting his towel-clad body on her in bed.

That could certainly be considered a betrayal – and the fact that Kyle tried to hide the extent of his trap won’t work in his favor either.

Kyle may be in for a rude awakening when all this blows up and potentially costs him his relationship with Claire.

It’s clear that Claire has become more emotional and impulsive since Cole passed away.

Claire isn’t willing to put up with the kind of things she used to put up with, so Kyle may get dumped – at least for a while!

That could set the stage for Holden to steal Kyle’s spot as Claire’s boyfriend depending on how things play out.

If Claire does get together with Holden romantically, will he treat her better than Kyle?

Will Holden just wind up being a placeholder until Claire forgives Kyle in the end?
