The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) may decide to use a secret Newman spy. Will Cane hire Holden for a special assignment as he works to find his missing family?

Thanks to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Cane is on the verge of totally freaking out over Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and the twins’ disappearance.

Victor will make it seem like the three of them are in jeopardy, so Cane’s going to be frantic.

This whole situation will force Cane into a tight spot since Victor will obviously want to negotiate a Newman deal.

Victor may warn that until he gets his family’s empire back, Lily, Charlie Ashby (last played by Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie Ashby (last played Lexie Stevenson) will remain under his control.

Cane won’t want to give up Newman Enterprises now that he’s yanked power away from Victor, but he won’t want to leave his family in trouble either.

That’s why Cane may turn to Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) for help with an alternative solution.

Cane knows Holden is fairly close to Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), who is Victor’s granddaughter and a major part of the Newman clan.

Since Y&R spoilers say Holden’s going to get a new assignment from someone, there’s a good chance it’ll be from Cane.

Perhaps Cane will want Holden to be a Newman spy and infiltrate the inner circle using Claire.

Cane may push Holden to find out from Claire where Lily and the twins are being held – or at least whether they’re in legitimate danger.

Of course, Holden may decide Claire is too smart to fall for any tricks.

Besides, Holden doesn’t want to lie to Claire any more than he already has, so he may be honest about Cane’s assignment and hope she can come through for him.

Claire may have sympathy for Cane in this instance and disagree with Victor’s strategy.

Maybe Claire will even be willing to seek the truth from Victor or Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) about this plot involving Lily, Mattie and Charlie.

Naturally, Claire could want something in return for her efforts.

If Claire’s going to score news on Lily and the twins, then she may expect Holden to provide updates on the rest of the Los Angeles story.

Claire may insist that if Holden tells her what happened to the art dealer who vanished, then she’ll find out where Lily, Charlie and Mattie are.
