The Young and the Restless (Y&R) update for Monday, March 9, indicate that Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) will try to prove herself to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) while Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) gets some disturbing evidence.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will also deliver a proposal, so some surprising news is ahead on Y&R.

At the athletic club, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) won’t have much of an appetite due to their frustration over losing Newman Media.

However, Chelsea and Adam will eventually lighten the mood by joking about other career options.

Adam will suggest he could be a card shark and revisit his past as Spider in Las Vegas.

Chelsea will kid around about running cons with Adam in Monte Carlo, but she’ll ultimately be glad their shady histories are behind them.

That said, Chelsea will be committed to doing whatever it takes to give Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) the life he deserves.

On the yacht, Patty will talk about all the work she did on herself and try to convince Jack of her rehabilitation.

After Patty suggests she wants to heal Jack and make up for her past actions, he’ll have his doubts about that.

Even so, Patty will play up how much she wants forgiveness and will eventually offer Jack a meal.

Jack won’t know if he should eat or drink anything Patty serves him, but she’ll test the food and booze to show Jack she’s not trying to poison him.

Jack will finally soften a bit and act like Patty’s made a compelling case for redemption.

That said, Jack will contend that Patty needs to do more to prove herself, so he’ll think they should go to shore together.

From there, Jack will suggest Patty can keep being this new person she’s so proud of being and he can go back to his wife and family.

Patty will acknowledge that Jack is as charming as ever, but she’ll admit that’s not possible since she’s not the person in control of this whole situation.

At Society, Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will lash out when Billy tries to make everything about him and how he could lose Chancellor again.

Billy won’t want to give Chancellor up if they don’t even have evidence that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has Jack in his possession.

Over text, Billy will push Victor to send proof and promise that he’ll find a way to get Chancellor to him if he does.

A disturbing photo will come in from a burner phone that shows Jack unconscious in the shirt he wore yesterday.

There’ll also be a message urging the Abbotts to make a move in response, so Billy, Kyle and Diane will feel confident Victor’s telling the truth.

At the Newman ranch, Phyllis will tell Victor she’s still in charge of Chancellor and that she wants to strike a deal for it.

Although Phyllis won’t really buy that Jack’s in danger, she won’t want to be at fault if something does happen to him.

Phyllis will insist that if Jack, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), Mattie Ashby (last played by Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie Ashby (last played by Noah Alexander Gerry) walk free, she’ll sign Chancellor back over to Victor.

Victor will be suspicious of Phyllis’ motives, but she’ll mostly suggest she wants to get Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) and Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier) back on her side.

Victor won’t lock in the deal yet, but he’ll tell Phyllis to give him an hour and get the papers ready.

Phyllis will also get a warning not to try any other negotiations or else there’ll be no agreement.
