The Young and the Restless Monday, January 12 Update: Matt Put On Ice – Cane & Phyllis’ Victory Lap
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, January 12, reveals that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will be put on ice after Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) setback. Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will also take a victory lap between the sheets, so let’s discuss what’s ahead on Monday’s Y&R episode.
At the Newman ranch, Victor will get an alarming text and delay his conversation with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) by rushing off for private phone calls.
Matt will act like the Abbotts overplayed their hand since Victor obviously has more important things to deal with.
When Matt mentions Jack’s “smoke-show” wife and acts like Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) is out of Jack’s league, Kyle will have to hold his dad back and stop him from roughing Matt up.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will get in Matt’s face and bark threats before the Abbott security team stashes him in the car.
After Nikki questions whether Jack would really release such a monster, he’ll make it clear that he’s protecting his family and expects the AI program in exchange for Matt.
If Jack doesn’t get that and Jabot remains at risk, what happens next will be on Victor.
Victor will eventually pop back up and stun Jack by leaving Matt in their custody until he’s ready to provide an answer.
Jack will give Victor until morning before he unleashes Matt, but Victor will keep pushing him to leave along with Kyle.
Once Jack and Kyle are gone, Victor will give Nikki, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) some troubling information.
The three of them will reel as Victor admits the AI program turned on Newman Enterprises and is now attacking the company.
At the athletic club, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will come out of the jazz lounge with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and run into Phyllis, who’ll be with Cane.
Billy will push Phyllis’ buttons about entering another risky alliance and mock Cane by suggesting he could scam another old lady for more capital.
Although Billy will fish for info about what Phyllis and Billy are cooking up, he won’t get any details.
That said, Billy will know from his earlier eavesdropping session that Billy and Phyllis are targeting Newman Enterprises, so he’ll give Sally updates once they’re alone.
Billy will also call Jack and Kyle with the news later, so Sally will listen as he wishes he were the one behind Victor’s downfall.
After Kyle and Jack realize Cane and Phyllis are launching a Newman crisis, they’ll assume that’s what had Victor so rattled.
As for Matt, he’ll be taken to a secure location with Abbott guards to babysit him.
Jack will also admit to Kyle that he’d never actually release Matt considering what he’s capable of, but he’ll want Victor and Nikki to believe that he would.
Plus, Victor will secretly have the Abbott vehicle followed and give his security guy orders to keep an eye on Matt, so he won’t completely surrender control of the situation.
At the coffeehouse, Cane will stun Phyllis by admitting he’s already triggered the AI element that forces the program to turn on its host.
Phyllis will pull Cane into a delighted kiss before they strip down for some bedroom bonding on Cane’s train.
Cane will promise Phyllis will get her “heart’s desire” and urge her to take a breath since she’ll be so excited about this Newman takeover.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor will strike back in a big way soon, so stay tuned!
