The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Monday, January 12, reveals that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will learn Newman Enterprises is under attack, so he’ll send the Abbotts away with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth).

At the GCAC, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will cross paths with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).

After Billy provokes Phyllis and launches a confrontation, Sally will scold him in the aftermath.

Billy will privately admit to Sally that he overheard Phyllis and Cane talking about going after Newman Enterprises.

Sally will worry that Billy thinks he should be the one to take down Victor instead, but Billy will insist he doesn’t care as long as it happens.

Once Phyllis heads to Crimson Lights with Cane, she’ll pester him about when he’s going to pull the trigger on their plan.

Cane will admit it’s already done, so Phyllis will get turned on thinking about their victory and will plant a kiss.

That’ll lead to Phyllis and Cane heading to his train, where they’ll hit the sheets as they celebrate the AI program going after Newman Enterprises.

Phyllis will wonder when they’re going to officially take over the company, so Cane will reassure her about the details coming later and insist she’s going to get her heart’s desire.

At the Newman ranch on Monday’s Y&R episode, Victor will get a text that leaves him looking uneasy.

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will be waiting for an answer on their Matt offer, but Victor will rush out of the room to deal with something.

Jack will wonder what could be more important than handling Matt and will push Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) to talk some sense into Victor regarding their trade for the AI program.

Nikki will question if Jack would really release Matt and leave her loved ones in jeopardy, but Jack will act like he indeed would and that it’d be Victor’s fault.

At one point, Kyle will have the Abbott security team take Matt out to the car since he’ll be so loud and obnoxious.

Victor will eventually return and insist that the Abbotts will get an answer when he’s good and ready.

Jack will give Victor until morning instead and leave with Kyle when Victor kicks them out.

Afterward, Victor will get someone from the Newman security team on the phone and push them to follow the Abbotts’ car.

Victor won’t want Matt out of his security team’s sight.

At the Abbott mansion, Jack and Kyle will realize something big must’ve rattled Victor for him to put off dealing with Matt, who’ll be in a secure location with guards watching over him.

Once Jack and Kyle assume this is about Newman Enterprises, Billy will call with updates on what he overheard at the athletic club.

After Billy spills about Cane and Phyllis targeting Newman, Sally will listen as he wishes he were the one going after Victor instead.

Back at the ranch, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will arrive after being summoned for a family meeting.

Victor will tell Victoria, Nikki and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) that the AI program has turned on its host, so Newman is being gutted as they speak.
