The Young and the Restless Monday, August 4 Recap: Claire Storms Out on Victor, Done with Grandpa Trashing Kyle

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Monday, August 4, reveals that an angry Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will storm out on Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) after she decides she’s done with her grandpa trashing Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and attempting to break them up.
Despite knowing Victor won’t be happy about it, Claire will insist on Kyle meeting up with her family before Cole Howard’s (J. Eddie Peck) memorial.
Victor will give Kyle the cold shoulder and leave Claire irked, but Kyle will try to keep the focus on Cole’s memory.
As for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Y&R spoilers say he’ll face Victor’s lecture since he didn’t publish the Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) hit pieces.
Victor will make it clear that he still wants Billy’s public takedown, so Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will warn that his brother can’t play both sides when it comes to their father.
At Crimson Lights, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will bump into Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and express her condolences over Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers).
Chelsea will also mention Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) recent trip to Genoa City, so Lily will realize he lied about them being stranded since there was a way to leave his estate in Nice.
Since the twins don’t know about Cane being Aristotle Dumas yet, Lily will eventually leave them a voice memo in their group chat and push them to speak with their father.
Next, Chelsea will join Adam, Claire, Kyle, Nick, Victor, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) for Cole’s memorial. Once the service is over, everyone will come back to the ranch.
Victor will propose a toast and play up how Cole was ultimately accepted as part of the Newman clan.
After Victor mentions many others trying and failing, Claire will know he’s talking about Kyle and will lash out.
Victor will note that he didn’t mention Kyle’s name, but Claire will argue that she’s not dumb and will be sick of him constantly trashing Kyle.
Of course, Victor won’t apologize for doing what he feels is best for his family.
Claire will argue that Victor doesn’t get to decide who’s part of her life anymore and will suggest she should’ve done this weeks ago.
After Claire declares she’s done with Victor’s attempts to break up her relationship with Kyle, she’ll stomp out with Kyle not far behind.
In a suite at the GCAC, Cane will welcome Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and point out that he’s staying there temporarily.
Since Cane has an identical train on every continent, he’ll explain that he’ll be living on his American train once it arrives in town.
After Cane mentions someone else will be part of the meeting, he’ll open the door to Billy.
Phyllis and Billy will bicker in front of Cane, who’ll finally insist he needs a team who can get along.
Once Cane discusses his agenda and admits going after Jabot is part of it, he’ll wonder if Billy can handle that.
Cane will also offer to make Abbott Communications part of his new powerhouse creation once he folds in all the key GC companies.
Billy will need time to think, but Phyllis will insist she’s all in right now and will act like she’s more trustworthy.
Since Cane’s grand plans seem impossible, Billy will feel like Cane is either delusional or has a secret weapon.
In the end, Cane will push Billy to join them and find out!
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy will have a tough call to make that could involve a major family betrayal, so stay tuned for updates on any big news that’s brewing.
