The Young and the Restless Friday, August 15 Recap: Cane Offers to Abandon Plan for Lily Reunion

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, August 15, reveals that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will offer to abandon his plan for a Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) reunion. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will also play bad cop, so here’s what Y&R fans can expect.

After Newman Media unmasks Cane as Aristotle Dumas, Adam will talk to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) about Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) getting dragged into the drama.

Chelsea won’t have a problem with it since Billy put a target on his own back by aligning with Cane.

Billy will show up and take some jabs, but he’ll be most irritated about this attack on Cane’s character. It’ll be a mistake that’s going to come back to haunt them all as far as Billy’s concerned.

Billy will eventually head to the tack house, where he’ll assure Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) that he doesn’t blame her for what the Newman men do.

Victoria will admit the kids are out riding and probably haven’t seen the article yet, so Billy will want to hang around and assure them that he’s OK.

There’ll be some talk about how Victoria’s coping with Cole Howard’s (J. Eddie Peck) demise, so she’ll appreciate Billy’s support.

Victoria will also get updates on Billy’s recent faceoff with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and will question him about what’s really going on with Cane, but Billy will insist his focus is on Abbott Communications.

At Crimson Lights, Nick will give Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) the news about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) pushing him to buddy up to Cane and establish an alliance.

Sharon will have concerns about that plan and will wonder why Nick always has to be the one on the frontlines.

Nick will downplay the risks and almost kiss Sharon again, but they’ll be interrupted by Adam and Chelsea’s arrival.

Chelsea and Adam will be surprised over the almost lip lock before they all have a Cane-related conversation.

Adam will be confused when Nick admits Victor’s new strategy for a Cane alliance, but Nick will guess that it’s a “good cop, bad cop” situation.

Adam will assume he’s meant to be the bad cop – though Chelsea will suspect Victor has more tricks up his sleeve.

Chelsea will be tired of worrying about Cane’s threat and will act like maybe he should be worried about all of them instead!

After Nick leaves, Adam and Chelsea will acknowledge that Sharon seems to be growing closer to Nick.

Chelsea will understand what it’s like for old sparks to fly and bring people back together.

Sharon will admit it’d be nice to get a happy ending with Nick like the one Adam got with Chelsea.

However, Adam will ultimately warn Sharon not to let Nick hurt her again.

On Cane’s train, he’ll tell Lily that his plan only involves Chancellor, but she won’t buy that.

Lily will sense that Cane is holding back and will keep pushing for the entire truth.

If she doesn’t get it, Lily will intend on giving the kids a far less pretty version of Cane’s actions.

Cane will be surprised over Lily’s willingness to turn Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry) against him.

Lily will be more concerned about Colin Atkinson’s (Tristan Rogers) influence on Cane and the kind of person he is now.

The conversation will eventually shift to how much Cane wants Lily back, so he’ll admit he’d abandon his whole plan for her.

Cane will acknowledge that he truly believes they belong together and would walk away from Lily if he didn’t have faith in that.

After Lily gets a message from Devon Winters (Bryton James), she’ll realize the article exposing Cane as Dumas has dropped.

Lily will realize they screwed up since now the twins are going to find out Cane lied to them for six years through a media outlet.

Cane will once again seek Lily’s help since he’ll know he’ll have to do damage control.

Lily will remind Cane that he said he was willing to abandon his whole plan for her, so she’ll push him to drop whatever he’s cooking up for the Newmans, Abbotts and maybe even her family.

If Cane does that, Lily will be willing to help with Mattie and Charlie.

Nick will frustrate Cane when he interrupts with an apology for blindsiding him with the Dumas article.

Cane will seem skeptical, but Nick will act like Adam moved faster on the article than the rest of the Newmans would’ve liked.

Nick will eventually urge Cane to meet up with him for a drink sometime since he’ll have something to run by him.

Cane will admit that sounds intriguing and will vow to be in touch.

Once Nick exits, Cane will turn his attention back to Lily.

Mattie will keep calling Lily’s phone, but Lily will want Cane’s answer about whether he’ll abandon his plan before she picks up.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Cane will have a big decision to mak
