Sly Jodie makes her move on David at last in new Coronation Street spoiler video
Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) wants anything but a strong and loving relationship with sister Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) in Coronation Street.
Newcomer Jodie was introduced to us at the start of the year, when she featured in the Corriedale crossover episode. Jodie was in the back of Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) van, but managed to escape and was later found by Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
A few days later, we learnt that Jodie is Shona’s sister.
We discovered that Shona left their toxic, controlling father and enabling mother when she was young, leaving Jodie behind. She had idolised her big sister from a young age, hence her decision to get a matching tattoo.
Shona’s departure from the family home was viewed as abandonment by Jodie, who bitterly resents her sister for walking away to a better life and leaving her behind.
Struggling with life as a teen mum, Shona had no idea about the full extent of abuse her little sister was suffering, locked in her bedroom by their cruel father.
Shona has made it clear that she wants to reconnect with Jodie, but doesn’t know her sibling has been dripping poison in Lily Platt’s (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) ear about her, and has also lied about events in her past.

Suffice to say Jodie is more than ready to completely destroy Shona’s life and in this new video, she turns her attention to partner David Platt (Jack P Shepherd).
In the Platt household, David realises Jodie is upset about something. With Shona upstairs, Jodie tells David that she feels like she missed out on a lot while growing up.
David reassures Jodie and says that she can stay as long as she wants, but things start to get a little weird when Jodie asks David if they can sit and watch a film together, claiming she doesn’t want to be on her own.
Feeling bad, David sits down and switches the television on, stopping him from heading upstairs to spend time with Shona.
Will Jodie be successful in her efforts to charm David?
Or will he work out what she’s doing?

‘Total resentment’, star Olivia Frances-Brown said when asked how Jodie feels about Shona.
‘Jodie feels Shona abandoned her and broke a promise to take her with her to a better life. Seeing Shona with the house, the husband, and the family – everything Jodie ever dreamt of – is hard for her. She blames Shona for the fact that she doesn’t have those things too’.
‘Jodie is a really interesting character’, producer of the show Kate Brooks added.
‘She’s a bit of a troublemaker, she’s got a bit of mischief in her eyes. All is not what it seems with Jodie and there’s a lot of layers to her. I think the audience are going to have a lot of fun unravelling who this person is, who Jodie is as a character and what she wants as well.
