Kev ups obsession with Robert in Emmerdale after game-changing revelation
Emmerdale’s Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) continued his relationship with Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) because of the man’s terminal illness, and that he didn’t want to break his heart.
The problem is though, Kev isn’t as ill as he’s making out.
This revelation was discovered by local GP Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) a few days ago. Given the fact we know Kev acted irrationally and possessively when he found out about Robert’s appeal when they were both in prison, it’s safe to assume he spun this big lie so Robert didn’t leave him.
When Kev was released, Robert continued to stay with him. Large fortune aside, Robert felt genuinely awful at the thought of breaking Kev’s heart, as he was a man who helped him a great deal while they were in prison together.
Kev’s lie ended up not working in his favour yesterday, as Robert ended their relationship. He said that Kev deserved better, and could no longer be his husband.

Kev absolutely lost it, but waited until he was completely alone to break down in tears.
In the coming episodes, Robert is struggling with the fact Kev is totally broken hearted. Meanwhile, Kev convinces himself that he can reunite with Robert and continues to manipulate Liam into keeping his secret about his heart condition.
After finding Kev clashing with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) over some spilled coffee, Robert heads to Mill Cottage flat to talk to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
Robert feels guilty about abandoning Kev in the latter months and is grateful for Aaron’s support when he reveals that he’s agreed to nurse Kev when the end comes.

The next day, Robert, Kev and Aaron all head to the housewarming party at Dale View. Things get a bit awkward though, as Kev rocks up drunk and hits the karaoke.
Kev makes a fool of himself and leaves. Robert then checks in on him, and reiterates his plans to be there for Kev when the end comes.
