Jack Wagner Returns to B&B – Gets Honest About ‘Bad Habits’
The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) star Jack Wagner is back as Nick Marone, and fans seem very happy about it. In a new interview this week, he opened up about what it’s really like to act on a soap opera. He talked about the surprising “bad habits” he says the fast-paced format can teach even the most experienced actors.
Some Lessons Learned
People reported on June 17 that Jack got very candid about his acting, and he doesn’t think he’s perfect. The soap veteran, known for his roles on General Hospital, Melrose Place, and B&B, made his big return this week after more than a decade away. But stepping back into the world of daytime TV came with a few lessons he’s learned along the way.
According to Wagner, one of the biggest challenges soap actors face is the tendency to overdo it. “You learn to inflect everything,” he told the outlet, admitting that early in his career, he found himself constantly moving, projecting, and using exaggerated emotion. “If you watch it, it’s like, ‘Okay, you’re a little busy here, Jack,’” he joked about himself.
Trying A More Natural Persona
Now, after working in film and theater, Wagner says he’s more focused on natural performance and honest reactions. He credits his growth as an actor to time spent outside the soap world. There, he had space to slow down, refine his craft, and learn the power of listening in a scene.
Wagner also gave fans a peek behind soap opera production, saying that actors often shoot an astounding number of lines in a day. “You don’t have time to think,” he said. “You’ve got to move quickly.”

Happy To Be Back Despite Feeling Heat
Even with the pressure, Wagner says he’s thrilled to be back on The Bold and the Beautiful. Playing Nick Marone again feels like coming home, and he’s excited to reunite with longtime castmates and deliver stories that resonate with viewers.
The actor’s candid take on the highs and lows of daytime TV seems to be very honest because not all of them admit to dealing with anything difficult at work. With decades in the acting business, Jack Wagner revealed that it’s never too late to change an approach in front of the camera.
Spoilers & Speculation
Nick’s unexpected comeback is probably stirring serious drama, and maybe even a little romance. Brooke Logan’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) former flame, Nick, reappears in her life while things are a bit rocky for her. Already, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) caught her and Nick together.
With her relationship with Ridge once again in a dicey place, Brooke finds herself leaning on Nick for comfort. Their bond has always been strong, and it looks like it’s not taking much time for them to slip back into old rhythms. That familiar spark is still there, for sure, and it could push Brooke to consider a brand-new path forward.
Could Nick be the man she’s meant to be with after all? Nick’s return may leave Brooke questioning whether Ridge really is her man for life. Is it time to change her future with someone who’s always had her back? Not to mention his anger about Nick’s return.
