General Hospital Tuesday, January 13 Recap: Alexis’ Final Willow Decision – Ava Catches Valentin at Wyndemere
General Hospital (GH) recap for Tuesday, January 13, reveals that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) made her final Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) decision while Ava Jerome (Maura West) caught Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) at Wyndemere.
At GH, Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) gave Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) updates on the new lab on Spoon Island, but she questioned how she’d get back and forth without raising suspicions.
Marco suggested Britt should live at Wyndemere and bury herself in her work, but she didn’t want to vanish from her whole life.
Nevertheless, Marco made it clear that Britt had better come up with a cover story she could use if necessary and tossed some threats around.
In Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) attic, Valentin pushed her to search Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) hotel room for Sidwell-related info.
Carly grumbled about that plan – and she was even more concerned when Valentin admitted he was headed off to poke around Wyndemere, which was the perfect place for clandestine operations.
Nevertheless, Carly indeed searched Brennan’s hotel suite, which led to her snapping pics of some documents she found in a large envelope.
Suddenly, Carly heard Britt arguing with Brennan outside the door, so she slipped into the bathroom and put a robe on.
While Carly eavesdropped, Britt came inside Brennan’s suite with him and shut down his plan for her to provide data from Sidwell’s lab.
In captivity, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) acted lethargic when Pascal (Marc Forget) brought her breakfast and blamed her numb hand when she dropped a cup.
After Anna insisted she needed her phlebotomy treatments, Pascal gave Sidwell news regarding her concerns. Sidwell didn’t want Pascal to do anything yet besides watch over her.
Later, Anna pretended to be unconscious on the floor, so Pascal rushed to her side. That gave Anna a chance to grab Pascal’s gun and wrestle it away from him, so she pointed it at him in the end.
After Ava had an art-related meeting with Sidwell, she caught Valentin trying to trigger a secret passageway opening. Ava popped up and admitted she got rid of that trigger when she was living there.
Valentin looked uneasy as Ava asked if Sidwell knew he was harboring a fugitive.
In Alexis’ office, she admitted she needed to speak to Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) as her attorney since what she was about to say was confidential.
Alexis recapped the ringtone twist and how she couldn’t defend Willow now that she knew her client was guilty. However, Diane warned Alexis that she’d be disbarred if she tanked the case during closing arguments.
Alexis worried about Scout Quartermaine’s (Cosette Abinante) safety, but Diane pointed out Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) would never believe Willow’s guilt and would cut Alexis off from her granddaughter if she blew this.
Alexis admitted Scout mattered most, so Diane felt that Alexis knew what she had to do in court.
Ahead of the trial wrap-up, Sidwell pushed Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) to go monitor wildcard Drew and worried he might need to arrange for another congressman to take over his seat.
At the courthouse, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) questioned Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) about the possibility of the WSB being behind the evidence tampering, but Brennan denied it and pointed the finger at Drew.
Dante spoke with ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) and admitted that although he didn’t trust Brennan, he couldn’t be certain of what Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) was capable of now either.
Although it was too late to influence Willow’s case, ADA Turner acknowledged there could be a weakness in the system and wanted Dante to plug the leak.
Once Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) crossed paths with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), he wondered why she still cared about Willow’s case.
Trina played it off like Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) had to act like he was supporting Drew, so she wanted to be there to support Kai.
Trina also had a nice interaction with Jordan, who was hopeful about Trina accepting her as a couple with Curtis.
As for Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell), they ruffled a few feathers by sitting in the courtroom together.
Meanwhile, Alexis was cutting it close since she hadn’t shown up and the trial was about to resume. Willow was concerned along with Drew, who called Alexis and got sent straight to voicemail.
Alexis arrived at the last second and went ahead with defending Willow as planned.
After Justine’s closing statement, Alexis gave her own and made a compelling case for why the jury should vote not guilty – even if she was a bit more subdued than usual.
Whether it was accidental or intentional, Alexis blundered at one point by using Willow’s name instead of Michael’s when attacking him, but she corrected herself quickly. It ultimately wasn’t a big deal since everyone seemed to think Alexis did a solid job.
A grateful Willow approached Alexis after jury deliberations began and insisted that if she went free, it would be because of Alexis.
General Hospital spoilers say Alexis will have to live with her actions if the jury acquits Willow as expected!
