General Hospital Spoilers: GH Just Proved Why Spencer Cassadine Is Needed Back on Canvas ASAP
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that ever since Spencer Cassadine’s (last played by Nicholas Alexander Chavez) tumble into the Seine, fans have been hopeful about his eventual comeback.
Spencer was presumed deceased in early 2024, but his body was never recovered.
That certainly offers some hope that Spencer will return one day – especially since his turtle dove was shown washing to shore around the time of his exit.
Of course, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) grieved the loss and ultimately found a way to move on with Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup).
Although Kai and Trina make a cute couple, their romance is nowhere near in the same league as her romance with Spencer.
In fact, the show just proved why Spencer Cassadine is needed back on canvas ASAP!
Kai betrayed Trina in a big way by ratting out her dad to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) is plotting to bring Jacinda (Paige Herschell) back and get her to say Drew willingly took those drugs.
Instead of protecting Trina and her family, Kai chose to warn Drew and put his needs first.
It’s tough to imagine Spencer backstabbing Trina if he were in this situation.
In fact, it’s tough to imagine Spencer in this situation at all since he’d never let someone like Drew brainwash him.
Kai is proving that Spencer was the superior love interest, but Trina surely knows that deep down.
GH writers portrayed Spencer and Trina’s relationship as a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love, so no one will ever really be able to measure up.
Trina’s romance with Kai doesn’t have the depth that her romance with Spencer had – partly because their story has resolved around football, surgeries and other stuff that many fans don’t care about.
Kai isn’t helping matters with his latest betrayal since it’s just another example of how he’s falling short in the love interest department.
Trina and Kai may be adorable together, but that’s not enough to make them a lasting pairing that’s worth rooting for.
Should the show move forward with recasting Spencer and put him back on canvas as soon as possible?
Trina and Spencer deserve another chapter at some point, so let’s hope GH writers make it happen!
