General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Friday, January 23, reveals that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) will play the blame game while Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) makes an adoption proposal.

Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) interruption is also on the way, so there’ll be a lot happening on Friday’s action-packed GH episode.

At the PCPD, Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) will show up with Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) and share some fears about Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) being in danger.

Since Emma didn’t get the answers she was looking for from the WSB, she’ll turn to Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) this time around and hope he can offer assistance.

Next, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will get settled in a new captivity spot as the mind games continue.

More mental anguish is on the way as Anna tries to figure out what’s real and what isn’t.

At Bobbie’s, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will have a hard time understanding why Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) suddenly pushed Carly’s buttons and reverted to all that talk about who matters more.

Britt will rant about Carly and try to get Jason to choose between them, but he’ll know something strange is going on.

Carly will blame Britt after she storms out, but even Carly knows there must be a deeper reason for Britt’s outburst.

Carly might figure out Britt is trying to push Jason away for his own good since she’s mixed up in all kinds of shady drama.

Perhaps Carly will blame Britt’s bosses too and urge Jason to consider it a gift that she’s shutting him out.

Of course, Jason won’t rest until he gets the full story.

Since Jason will sense that Britt’s in trouble, he’ll make it his mission to dig for the truth.

Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) is the real reason for Britt’s sudden about-face, so she’ll keep doing her best to protect Jason from Cullum’s wrath.

At Wyndemere, Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) will get a surprise of some sort.

That might involve Ava’s visit since she’s on the verge of interrupting and throwing off Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) plans.

Josslyn has been deactivated and ordered to abandon her Spoon Island investigation, but she’s ignoring Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) warnings.

At least Pascal (Marc Forget) is busy dealing with Anna outside of Port Charles and won’t be around to spot Josslyn!

Meanwhile, Chase will shock Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) when he updates her on his demotion.

Brook Lynn may find out about Chase’s brawl with Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) as well and have another reason to be concerned.

Chase will think they need to focus on adopting a baby, but Brook Lynn may point out how messy their lives have gotten lately.

The Gio situation is better, but do Brook Lynn and Chase really need to add a kid to the mix right now?

Chase may think Brook Lynn is making excuses again and wonder if she ever intends to adopt a baby with him at all!
