General Hospital Friday, January 23 Recap: Wes Ramsey Returns as Peter August, Anna’s Twisted Reunion
General Hospital (GH) recap for Friday, January 23, reveals that Wes Ramsey returned as Peter August – at least in Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) mind – so she had a twisted reunion.
At Bobbie’s, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) tried to force Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to choose whether she came first or Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), but he refused and wondered where all this was coming from.
Britt claimed she thought she could forgive Jason over the past and now realized she couldn’t, so she told him to stay away from her and took off.
Afterward, Jason grilled Carly on what exactly was said during their earlier conversation.
After Carly made it clear that Britt came looking for a fight, Jason insisted he was going to find out why.
At GH, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) was in the art therapy room when Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) appeared and asked him where Britt’s office was.
Britt peeked in through the window and interrupted, so Cullum shook her hand and pretended to meet her.
Britt spoke with Cullum privately about why he’d been interacting with Rocco twice in one day.
Cullum suggested he was proving a point and began threatening Rocco.
Britt insisted Cullum couldn’t make Rocco disappear since his family wouldn’t let that go, but Cullum suggested he could have Rocco thrown in Steinmauer instead.
That rattled Britt, who got a warning about facing real consequences if she didn’t stay in line.
At Wyndemere, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) wasn’t thrilled about Ava Jerome (Maura West) being there when she arrived with Lucas Jones (Van Hansis).
Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) also popped up for drinks, but Josslyn tried to make an excuse to leave because of Ava’s presence.
That didn’t work, so Josslyn was forced to stick around and bicker with Ava, who caught her snooping at one point.
A little later, Lucas, Marco, Ava and Josslyn all shared some bottles of wine.
When Lucas suggested exploring the catacombs and got Josslyn on board with the idea, Marco shut down the idea quite forcefully and seemed nervous.
In captivity, Anna hallucinated that Peter aka Heinrik was there taunting her.
Peter acted like he was alive thanks to one of Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) tricks, but Anna kept muttering that he wasn’t real.
As for Faison, Peter said father was almost ready to reveal himself to Anna.
GH fans saw Anna cry over the whole ordeal as she ultimately demanded that Faison show his face.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) gave Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) updates on his demotion to patrol officer – though he admitted he could take the detective exam in the future.
For now, Chase wanted to focus on their adoption plans, but Brook Lynn worried this was a reaction to him losing his detective job and that sense of identity.
However, Chase pointed out he could rebuild his career and defended his desire to start a family with Brook Lynn, so they wound up sharing a kiss.
At the police station, Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) and Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) showed up looking for Mac Scorpio (John J. York) but he was busy somewhere else.
Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) offered to help instead, so Anna and Gio voiced concerns about missing Anna potentially being in trouble.
Although Nathan couldn’t find any clues in the PCPD’s records involving Anna, he vowed to get answers and knew where to start.
General Hospital spoilers say some shocking Anna news is still to come, so stay tuned.
