General Hospital Casting News: OG Ethan Lovett Returns, Nathan Parsons Reprises Role

General Hospital spoilers hint that the original Ethan Lovett is slated for a Port Charles comeback, as actor Nathan Parsons will reprise the role.

It’s important to note that Nathan Parson is now being referred to as Nathan Dean.

The actor played Ethan, the love child of Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) and Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) from 2009 to 2012.

With that said, he came back for brief runs in years past. In 2013, Ethan returned to the canvas to help celebrate the ABC soap’s 50th anniversary.

He then came back two years later in 2015 for Luke’s “goodbye” storyline when Geary retired.

In addition, Ethan returned in 2020 for some episodes and popped up in Monte Carlo, when friends Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) were on a mission in the area.

Of course, actor James Ryan was recast into the part in 2023, for a few episodes, and Ethan hasn’t been seen since.

Reports indicate that GH fans should expect to see Ethan back in storylines this coming April.

While his dad, Luke, passed away in 2022, and his mom, Holly, is in hiding with Robert – along with his half-sister, Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson), as well as his baby niece, Daisy Gilmore (Levi Clark Coughlin) – Ethan still has other loved ones in PC.

Namely, his little sister, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening), who has yet to be reunited with her other brother since she awakened from her coma.

Plus, Ethan’s ex/friend, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), may be happy to see him return, as well as her father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Frank Valentini, GH’s executive producer, chimed in on OG Ethan’s comeback, saying, “We have a great story planned — with, of course, a few twists along the way.”

Interestingly enough, when Dean first auditioned for General Hospital, he read for the part of Dante Falconeri.

As fans know, the Dante role went to Dominic Zamprogna; however, it was said that Dean made such a great impression on Mark Teschner, the show’s casting director, that “Ethan” was created specifically for Dean.

The rest, as they say, was history, and Dean ended up debuting on the ABC soap on January 30, 2009.

General Hospital spoilers state that it’ll be interesting to see what brings Ethan back to the land of Port Charles, and what kind of trouble he’ll get into once he hits the ground running.
