Fire drama rocks Aaron and Robert in Emmerdale but the wrong person is blamed

There’s a roaring fire in Emmerdale this Christmas – and it’s got nothing to do with chestnuts.
2025 has been a mixed bag for Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). Although they returned to the village and officially reunited, the future of our beloved #Robron was threatened by the arrival of the slightly unstable Kev Towsend (Chris Coghill). Think Begbie from Trainspotting – If Begbie had married Robert Sugden in prison.
Fresh from serving time for armed robbery, Kev was hellbent on winning back his jailhouse hubby and even pretended he was dying just to manipulate his way back into Rob’s heart. But Rob was more interested in getting his hands on the ill-gotten gains Kev had stashed somewhere in the village.
After weeks of the world’s weirdest love triangle ended in Kev attacking Aaron with a sword (don’t ask), Kev finally gave up, leaving the village with a broken heart. Finally, Emmerdale’s most beloved couple since Paddy and Marlon are finally free to be together…

…Except life doesn’t work that way. Not in Emmerdale at least. There’s fresh drama ahead when Robert and Aaron plan to bring baby Seb back into their lives, the result of Robert’s fling with the late Rebecca White (Emily Head).
This decision does not sit well with Ross Barton (Michael Parr), Rebecca’s ex, who was like a father to Seb, and his decision to give up the baby up after she died broke his heart. Seeing Seb in the village every day would be a painful reminder of everything he’s lost, and battle lines are soon drawn between Ross and Aaron.
Sure enough, Aaron returns home to find his car windscreen smashed and immediately points the finger of suspicion at Ross. Didn’t anybody warn him? Never give a Dingle reason for revenge…
However, it soon becomes clear that Ross didn’t smash the windscreen. So who did?

There is another suspect lurking in the shadows with intent – and their reign of terror is only just getting started.
The next morning, the mysterious villain has struck again. Someone set fire to the trees outside Aaron’s flat! Again, Ross has an alibi. Robert’s determined to discover who is behind the attacks and soon finds the culprit! But will he be able to stop them?
On Christmas morning, as the villagers gather outside the Woolpack for mulled wine, Aaron is perplexed when Robert heads off on a mystery errand… but he doesn’t come back. Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) and Aaron grow increasingly concerned to realise that Robert has vanished on Christmas day!
Who is out to get Robert and Aaron? Spoiler – it ain’t Santa.

Where is Robert?! (Picture: ITV)
‘I am hoping people are as shocked by it as we were when we read it’, star Danny Miller said.
‘But I think we are being careful with how much information we are giving the audience before it’s on screen. But it is exciting. I think there are a lot of moments where you go, oh my God, come on, please, please! Please wake up. That’s all I’ll say.’
He added: ‘I think, given everything they’ve [Robert and Aaron] been through, this is another, minor bump in the road that they need to get over. I think they’ll be okay, but you never know.
