Evil Megan will ‘do anything’ in Coronation Street as she prepares to get rid of Sam
Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) faced a new hurdle in Coronation Street recently when it became apparent young Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) was suspicious about the dynamic she has with Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).
Megan is currently grooming Will, who believes they are in a relationship. Sam began to wonder that something wasn’t quite right between them when he worked out that Megan had a sports top among her belongings, that clearly wasn’t Daniel Osbourne’s (Rob Mallard).
Sam approached Will and gently asked if something was going on with Megan, but he immediately leapt to her defence. Once Will had updated Megan, she hot footed it to Speed Daal to try and silence Sam.
The evil predator has worked hard to convince Sam that even if he did speak out about her and Will, he wouldn’t be believed. As far as Megan is concerned, she’s got Sam nailed – but actress Beth Nixon has confirmed that her character has completely underestimated just how switched on this teenager is.

‘Everyone tells her how smart Sam is, but she thinks she’s smarter. She views him as just a kid and assumes she’s in total control’, she told us.
‘She’s been incredibly mean to him because she sees him as weak, and she’s actively manipulating him through his grades. For now, she’s staying cool as a cucumber.’
‘I think she’ll do anything’, Beth added when asked what Megan will do to keep Sam quiet.
‘She is the most important person in her life, and she’ll step over anyone to come out on top.’
Megan believing that she’s more superior to those around her is a strong focus for Beth when playing her, and believes it could be the thing that causes her character to be exposed.

‘Her cleverness is her downfall, but so is her self-righteousness. She thinks she’s God’s gift and that she can get away with anything. I think she’d stay and fight until the bitter end, telling as many lies as possible.
‘The idea of prison is terrifying to her, so she might eventually try to run, but her cockiness is what would ultimately lead to her demise. She truly believes she can manipulate everyone around her.’
Beth added: ‘She feels guilt, but her own life and her own desires are more important than anything else. She’s a narcissist. She feels sadness and empathy, but she snaps herself out of it because guilt would hold her back from getting what she wants.
