Emmerdale star shares ‘overwhelmed’ update after giving birth
The birth came in the same week Isabel’s exit scenes played out on screen
Isabel Hodgins and her partner have shared an update after the birth of their first child together. The actress, who plays Victoria Sugden on the ITV soap Emmerdale, announced the news in an adorable post on social media earlier this week.
The birth came in the same week Isabel’s exit scenes played out on screen as she is taking a break to go on maternity leave. The actress posted to Instagram today: “The messages and comments over the last couple of days have honestly overwhelmed us. Every single one has warmed our hearts even more. Thank you so much.”
This month, Isabel shared a video of herself from hospital singing to her tummy, before the screen switched to a blank page. Isabel wrote: “On the 11th of February at 1.02am….”
The sound of a baby crying could be heard as she added: “Georgie Grace Whitehead. 11.02.26. 8Ibs 5oz” with pink love heart emojis. The post was followed up by a polaroid photo of Isabel holding her newborn. She captioned the heartwarming post: “And then we heard you.”
The TV star first announced she was expecting her first child in post on social media last summer. Sharing a photo of herself and her husband Adam.

The actress said: “First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes… Baby Whitehead [red heart emoji].” It has been an exciting couple of years for the couple and they got married in a stunning ceremony last year.
The two camera shots show Isabel and Adam with their hands on top of each other, showing off their new weddings rings. The second was an adorable picture of the ITV star and new husband embracing each other with a kiss on their wedding night.
While Isabel takes a break from Emmerdale, fans will be pleased to know this isn’t the end of Victoria Sugden and she will be returning to the soap in the future. She celebrated a special landmark after reaching 20 years on Emmerdale.
Isabel has been playing Victoria on Emmerdale since 2006 when the role was recast. She was nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’ at the TV Choice and TV Quick awards in 2007.
In 2008, she was nominated for ‘Best Young Actress’ at the Inside Soap Awards. Isabel plays the daughter of Jack and Sarah Sugden and adoptive sister to Andy Sugden.
On Instagram in October, she wrote: “Can’t believe I’ve entered my 20th year on Emmerdale. So many memories, amazing people, and stories over the years.”
