Coronation Street fans ‘work out’ who Maggie killed – and it’s someone we know
Coronation Street fans have a wild theory about a possible victim of newcomer Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn), who is thought to be a killer.
Maggie has made quite an impression on fans since rocking up in the ITV soap last month, with her take no prisoner’s attitude and acerbic wit making her feel like a truly classic Corrie character.
Star Pauline, who is best known for her role as Mrs Doyle in Father Ted, told Metro to expect some OMG moments ahead for character but new reports claim that Maggie is actually a killer!
The matriarch is thought to have taken a life, with rumours that all will be revealed in the special episode towards the end of the year.
Talk about the most unexpected of twists!
‘When viewers see whose death Maggie was behind, it will really send shockwaves through Weatherfield and life will never quite be the same again for her,’ said a source.
‘The killing happened prior to her moving into the Rovers Return with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, and none of them will be aware of it.
The insider continued to The Sun: ‘But it will all come out in a bombshell storyline leading up to the festive season.’
Since word of Maggie’s alleged actions were revealed, fans have been speculating on whose death she was responsible for – and quite a few reckon they’ve worked it out.

X/Twitter user swoosh286 wrote: ‘I’m calling it now, Maggie Driscoll caused the accident that killed Adam Barlow’s mother, Susan. That’s what she saw in Ken’s sideboard cupboard on Halloween, a photo of Adam and Susan’.
Elaborating further, they said: ‘look back to Halloween, Maggie walked in when Eva mistook Adam for Ben and her look gave it away. The same look on her face in the Barlow house when she looked in the cupboard!’
Greg agreed with the theory, writing: ‘I think Maggie was responsible for Susan’s death’, while Katie added: ‘I thought Susan. It would make the most sense from the cupboard thing and maybe could give me my Eva and Adam affair somehow.’

Fan Tibette – Swarla was also in agreement, stating: ‘I said the same thing yesterday. Great minds think alike’.
Coronation Street fans will recall that Susan, daughter of longtime patriarch Ken Barlow and mother of Adam, was killed in 2001 when she was forced off the road by a getaway car fleeing the scene of an armed robbery.
The robbery in question was carried out by Gareth Brannigan and, more notably, Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).

Billy’s role in Susan’s death caused chaos when it was exposed in 2017 but could there be a twist in the tale ahead of the vicar’s exit, revealing that Maggie was really the one to blame?
X user Mitch certainly thinks so.
‘Wait everyone is thinking Theo kills Billy but what if Billy only thought he killed Susan, he finds out it was Maggie and Maggie kills him to protect her secret,’ they wrote.
That would be clever! We’ll just have to keep watching to find out.
