Coronation Street fans think they know who will eventually rumble Carl Webster’s lies as he cruelly takes advantage of his sister, Debbie.

Those who follow the ITV soap know that earlier this year, Debbie was diagnosed with dementia.

In scenes aired in April, viewers saw Debbie growing concerned about her memory loss and booked an appointment at a private clinic, believing her symptoms may be related to the menopause.

After discussing a series of recent incidents, shown as flashback scenes, including a blackout and fall, the doctor advised her that he wants her to have further tests as he was concerned that she is showing symptoms of early-onset vascular dementia.

The diagnosis also coincided with Carl’s arrival in Weatherfield, having only ever been mentioned by name but never physically seen by Corrie viewers.

And he’s since created drama for his loved ones, with his affair with his half-brother Kevin’s wife, Abi, now out in the open. But as Corrie fans know, Carl isn’t as serious about Abi as he makes out, as he’s also sleeping with James Bailey.

Recently, Debbie discovered the pair’s secret romance and when she confronted her younger half-sibling, Carl protested that they were just discussing personal training, Debbie didn’t look convinced and headed to work.

Later at the hotel, when Carl showed up for his shift, Debbie confronted him with her suspicions that he is having an affair with James. But in an evil move, Carl made out she had gotten confused, a sign of her dementia.

“This is the start of it. You’re losing your marbles,” Carl told his sister. “You’ll be walking down the street in your nightie next. You’re not making any sense. I’m worried about you.”

Debbie ended up apologising to Carl and his manipulation only continued during Wednesday’s (November 5) Corrie. Recent episodes have seen him trying to steal money off his sister Debbie in order to pay off his debts.

After suggesting her dementia was impacting her work, Carl landed a job at the hotel and tried in vain to get access to the business accounts. In his latest move, Carl was seen convincing Debbie that she’s booked a holiday, which he claims she forgot about, and insists he will manage the accounts while she’s gone.

The scenes infuriated Corrie fans, and they are keen for Debbie’s fiance, Ronnie Bailey, to be the one to bring Carl down.
