Coronation Street death twist in early ITVX release as Becky targets child
This article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX.
Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) is fighting battles on two fronts in Coronation Street since her return from the dead earlier this year.
Her primary goal is to reclaim her family – wife Lisa (Vicky Myers) and daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) – who she had to abandon four years ago when her death was staged to get her away from some criminals who were threatening her.
We’ve also learned that Lisa’s current boss, DI Costello (Daon Broni), was instrumental in helping to organise her disappearance, and doing so involved him in some very shady stuff, possibly murder. As such, Becky’s reappearance has been extremely inconvenient for him and he’s very keen to get rid of her one way or another.
In Monday (November 24)’s episode, Becky was sent a wreath bearing the ominous message, ‘Rest in Peace – Again!’ She told Lisa and Betsy about this, worrying them both but sending Betsy in particular into a state of panic as she worried that her mum was getting death threats.
Becky paid a visit to Costello, and although she didn’t say it outright it was obvious that she knew that he was behind sending the wreath and warned him that she was going to get to the bottom of it.

Then we saw her taking pictures of a girl who was at the precinct with her mates – and she sent the photos to Costello. She followed this up with a phone call where she made a direct threat that it ‘would be a shame’ if anything was to happen to his daughter.
Clearly shaken, Costello retaliated by telling Becky she was playing a ‘very dangerous game’ and that she knows what he’s capable of. He previously warned Becky that he could have her killed like he did to Tia Wardley, so we know what a dangerous man he is.
Hard as nails Becky was apparently unmoved by his threat and replied that if he came after her or her family again, he’d regret it.
These two individuals have obviously got no limit as to what they’ll threaten to do to protect their own interests – but how far will Becky really go in targeting Costello’s daughter?
