Catherine Tyldesley shares gushing post about Coronation Street co-star

There’s nothing we love more than a wholesome on-set friendship, and Catherine Tyldesley has just given fans exactly that.

The Coronation Street favourite took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute to her co-star Aaron McCusker, and it’s safe to say the love is mutual.

Posting a snap of the pair behind the scenes on the set of Coronation Street, Cath couldn’t help but gush about finally getting the chance to properly work alongside him after years of near misses.

‘I am so lucky to work with this gent everyday,’ she wrote. ‘Our paths have almost crossed several times in the past with castings for other projects, and I’ve admired his work for a long time- here we are, finally working together!

‘The universe clearly had a plan!’

‘What an actor this guy is, such fine, detailed work and so generous. But also one of the nicest, funniest people I know.

‘It’s a bloody pleasure standing behind that bar with you each day @aaronmccusker6474 (especially when you bring Turkish delight or dark chocolate)’

And we love to see it.

Fans flooded the post with heart emojis and messages celebrating the duo’s on-screen chemistry. Among them was Corrie star Tony Maudsley, who wrote: ‘Ahhh now this just works a treat!! Perfect match!!’

And viewers seem to agree.

Catherine reprised her role as Eva Price a few months ago, back in October, and fans were thrilled to see the iconic character back pulling pints in the Rovers. Eva, the bold, glamorous and fiercely loyal daughter of Stella Price, was always made for behind that bar, delivering cutting one-liners one minute and heartfelt vulnerability the next.

Long-time viewers will remember Eva’s rollercoaster journey during her original stint on the cobbles. From her explosive relationship with Aidan Connor to the devastating baby swap storyline involving Toyah Battersby, she was at the centre of some of Corrie’s most talked-about plots.

Her 2018 exit saw her leave Weatherfield for a fresh start in France with daughter Susie after finally exposing the truth and reclaiming her child. It was emotional, dramatic and very Eva.

Now firmly back on the Street, her scenes at the Rovers have slotted seamlessly into the heart of the show again, and her new dynamic with Aaron’s character has quickly become a fan favourite.

There’s clearly a natural ease between the two actors, something Cath herself hinted at in her post. After nearly crossing paths multiple times in the past, the timing has finally worked out.
