Carl and Abi caught in Coronation Street as she is ordered out of Kevin’s life

It looks like Abi Webster (Sally Carman) and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell)’s marriage is truly on the rocks in upcoming Coronation Street episodes, as Abi is firmly ordered out of Kevin’s life – by Debbie (Sue Devaney).

Abi and Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) have been enjoying an illicit affair for a number of weeks now, after finally giving in to passions that were ignited during a traffic incident in Freshco’s car park.

Initially Abi tried to stay faithful to Kevin, partly because he was going through cancer treatment and she wanted to support him. But when Kevin lied to her about still needing treatment even though he didn’t, she lost her sense of loyalty towards him and was soon in Carl’s arms in the garage.

Since then they’ve been meeting up in his room at the Chariot Square Hotel, and at number 13 while Kevin was away. It was here that Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) spotted them together and began blackmailing them.

Having survived Tracy’s threats to expose them, Abi makes a big decision in upcoming episodes after Kevin gets the all-clear from his doctors at his cancer check. He’s flooded with relief and planning a cosy retirement, growing old with Abi. She, meanwhile, can’t think of anything worse and tells her husband they should break up.

Out of consideration for Kevin, Abi holds off from telling him that the reason she wants to end their marriage is because she’s moved on with his brother.

In fact in some ways she carries on playing happy families with Kevin and the boys, but she admits to Carl that she’s dreading her upcoming birthday tea with Kevin and Jack (Kyran Bowes).

Sharp-eyed Debbie, meanwhile, has spotted Abi with a hotel key. Abi pretends it’s one she had from a previous booking that she forgot to hand back, but Debbie says she can’t remember Abi ever being a guest at her hotel.

At this point Carl steps in and, in a cruel move, convinces Debbie that she’s forgotten Abi’s previous stay in the hotel because of her dementia. Even Abi is a bit taken aback to hear that.

Their lies catch them out, however, when Debbie later checks the CCTV footage at the hotel because there’s been a theft. She’s infuriated to see footage of Abi heading towards Carl’s room, and heads off to room 101 immediately to have it out with her brother.

In the wake of this, Debbie is fuming about what’s been going on behind her – and Kevin’s – backs and determines to put a stop to it.

She issues Abi with an ultimatum – pack her bags and move out of number 13, otherwise she’ll tell Kevin everything.
