Spencer Dutton made it out of 1923 alive and intact, despite enduring some of the worst travails yet unleashed upon a member of the Yellowstone universe’s ever-embattled central clan.

“It would be great,” Sklenar said when asked if his fan-favorite character would be a part of the 1944 cast (via Today). Returning as Spencer would require the actor to be aged up by 20 years, but Sklenar indicated he is game for such a transformation.

“It would be pretty cool to see me with extra crows feet and frosted tips,” he quipped. “Age me up a little bit.”

1923ended with Spencer losing his wife Alexandra, who did manage to bravely stave off gangrenous death just long enough to give birth to a baby revealed to be John Dutton II, the father of Kevin Costner’s Yellowstone character John Dutton III.

1944would presumably detail the adventures of John Dutton II during the era of World War 2. Spencer would still be alive in the time-frame indicated by the show’s title, as confirmed by 1923 in a flash-forward that showed the character passing away as an old man in the year 1969.

Sklenar has talked before about his desire to return as an older Spencer Dutton, a character he admits he had a hard time shaking after 1923 ended.
