The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that much of the fanbase is side-eyeing the prospect of FC cousins Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) and RJ Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti) making out–isn’t this how some babies come out with three eyes and two noses?

We all know that it’s taboo for two closely related persons to procreate lest they produce DNA challenged individuals.

In the case of RJ and Electra, marriage has not come up but they are into each other. Shouldn’t this be a no-no? Let’s break down the reality of cousins RJ and Electra becoming involved!

RJ and Electra are Moving Forward

Electra and RJ are Forresters who work at their family’s company, Forrester Creations. In most societies, there are strong moral and legal codes that work to shut down close family members from becoming too close.

In reality, RJ and Electra have just met each other. She was raised overseas while RJ is a Cali boy through and through.

Perhaps their love of sun-drenched ocean vistas are drawing them into the realm of kissing cousins?

Let’s take a closer look at RJ and Electra’s family tree. Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) is RJ’s dad, and Eric Forrester (John McCook) is Ridge’s dad.

As such, RJ is related to Electra through Ridge who is Electra’s dad’s nephew. Confused? Let’s break down this family tree even further!

Eric is the brother of Electra’s dad, John Forrester and Electra is the granddaughter of John Forrester.

This makes RJ and Electra cousins via the extended branches of the Forrester family oak tree.

However, no matter whether RJ and Electra are first, second or third cousins ten times removed, there is no socially sanitized reason why they shouldn’t get together if that’s what they want.

That’s because while Eric raised Ridge, Massimo Marone is Ridge’s biological father. Got that?

In shorthand, RJ and Electra do not share blood even though they are considered cousins.
Still, the fact that they are in the same family has some uncomfortable with their potential closeness.

The show seems to recognize this stumbling block, as the issue has been surreptitiously raised more than once, as in a character recently stating that Ridge is Massimo’s son.
