The Young and the Restless The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that many fans are rooting for a past character to make a big comeback in Genoa City. Avery Bailey Clark (Jessica Collins) left the show back in 2015, but it’d be great to see her finally return to the CBS soap for some new storylines.

For viewers who weren’t watching back then or just need a memory refresher, Avery is Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) feisty younger sister as well as a lawyer. Since Phyllis will fire Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) during the week of May 18-22, she may need another attorney soon. What if Avery Bailey Clark finally comes back to serve as Phyllis’ lawyer and try to clean up the mess she’s made?

Phyllis and Avery don’t always get along, so it’s easy to imagine them clashing over past issues and current defense strategies. There’d be a lot of opportunities for fantastic drama with Avery back on canvas as Phyllis’ attorney. Of course, Avery also has a romantic history with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), so Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) might have to watch them reunite and give their relationship another chance.

Nick has to kick his drug addiction first, but he could eventually get his act together and fall for Avery again. Some fans have even wondered if Avery’s ex-husband, Joe Clark (Scott Elrod), might be related to Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) since they have the same last name. It’s worth mulling over, but it’d be wonderful to have Avery back on the show regardless.

Jessica Collins is a talented actress and someone Y&R would be lucky to lock in for an Avery return stint. However, it’s been long enough that viewers would likely have no problem accepting a recast if necessary. Would you like to see Avery Bailey Clark return to Genoa City in some form?
