The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will finally get the help she needs, even if she feels guilty about avoiding time behind bars.

Mariah’s plea deal moves forward in Y&R’s March 26 episode, so she’s getting probation and a stint in a psychiatric facility thanks to the judge’s approval.

Part of Mariah still thinks she deserves to be punished for kidnapping Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark), but prison wouldn’t have helped her.

Mariah’s mental state declined to the point that she was seeing twisted visions of Ian Ward (Ray Wise), so she obviously wasn’t in her right mind when the abduction took place.

Although the visions are gone, Mariah still isn’t really herself and needs treatment in a psychiatric facility that can actually help her this time around.

The one in Boston obviously wasn’t a good fit, but Mariah will hopefully have some major breakthroughs once she connects with the right psychiatric team for her.

Mariah’s mental health nightmare may truly be over now that she’s willing to put in the work and get better instead of just pushing her loved ones away.

It feels like Mariah is facing a real turning point that’ll hopefully allow her to get her life back on track.

However, there’s at least one person who’ll struggle to forgive Mariah and move past what she’s done.

Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) can’t forget the fear she felt while Dominic was missing – nor can she forget the anger she still feels now.

Abby already made it clear that she wanted Mariah to stay away from Dominic.

That’s understandable considering Mariah stole Abby’s child and was planning to build a new life with him in Mexico during her lowest moment.

How will Abby react once she gets the news that Mariah avoided prison?

Abby may be torn between knowing Mariah needs mental help and resenting her for getting away with the kidnapping.

This could lead to Abby inflicting her own punishment by standing by her total Dominic ban.

Abby may admit she’s glad Mariah’s getting treatment, but she may insist it’s not going to change her mind about allowing her to be part of Dom’s life.

Even after Mariah’s eventual release from the mental hospital, Abby may always remember what she did and be wary.

It may be a long time before Mariah can ever have any meaningful contact with Dom again if Abby ever allows it at all!

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Mariah will just have to focus on getting better and hope for the best when it comes to repairing all the damage.

That goes for Mariah’s marriage to Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and whatever relationship she might hope to have with Dominic again someday.
