The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, March 23, indicate that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will get a scare while Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) has a showdown with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).

Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Grazidei) will also make a sacrifice, so let’s discuss all the stunning news to come.

In Las Vegas, Adam will wait for Riza Thomson (Tina Casciani) to get back to him and warn Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) that they could scare her off if they push too hard.

Once Riza finally returns Adam’s calls, he’ll convince her to catch up with him in his suite in 15 minutes.

Nick will hustle out and end up popping a fentanyl pill in the elevator moments later.

As for Adam on Monday’s Y&R episode, he’ll be taken aback when Riza comes waltzing in and aims a gun at him.

Back in Genoa City, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will quiz Daniel about dating Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and insist she knows they’re more than friends.

Mariah will act like she’s on board with Tessa moving on, but Daniel will push her to admit she still loves and misses Tessa.

Daniel will give Mariah a nudge to fight for her marriage, even if his own heart breaks in the process.

Mariah will end up having a bit of an emotional meltdown over blowing apart her family and will accept Daniel’s hug.

Next, Daniel will speak with Tessa and give her a push back in Mariah’s direction as well.

After Daniel refuses to stand in the way of their possible reconnection, Tessa will text Mariah asking if they can meet up.

At the athletic club, Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) will tell Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) that Mariah’s been fighting her on the plea deal she’s arranged.

Mariah could get probation and a stint in a psychiatric facility instead of prison, but she has to accept the deal when she goes before the judge tomorrow.

Since Mariah’s been adamant about belonging in prison instead, Christine will push Sharon to give her daughter some tough love and stop her from making a decision she’ll regret.

Christine will also warn that Mariah could face up to 15 years behind bars if they can’t talk some sense into her.

Sharon and Christine will find Mariah at Crimson Lights later, but she’ll still feel like she deserves prison time.

Once Mariah sees Tessa’s text, she’ll soften a bit and seem more willing to believe her life could turn around.

At Society, Billy will talk to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) over the phone about her new acquisition at Spectra-Charles, so Chelsea will listen at her nearby table.

Chelsea will suspect that Billy wanted her to hear that, but he’ll deny wanting to pour salt in the wound.

After Chelsea confirms she’s truly one of the Newmans now, she’ll refuse to stand for Billy going after Adam and will grumble about him enjoying the Newmans’ downfall.

Billy won’t deny that he’s taking some pleasure in Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) defeat and won’t mind some debris hitting Adam on the way down either.

As for the blow of losing Chancellor Industries, Billy will point out that it’s not the real Newman empire that Victor wants.

At one point, Billy will suggest Chelsea might’ve been in on the Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) abduction scheme.

Chelsea will be appalled over Billy accusing her, but he’ll take a dig about her reverting to her old conniving self.

While Adam’s off on a mission to help Nick, Chelsea will suggest Billy’s busy throwing himself a pity party over Chancellor.

Although Chelsea will manage to rein in the conflict eventually, she’ll still want Billy to stay out of her way and will stomp out the door.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea will continue to show off her Newman loyalty, so stay tuned.
