The Young and the Restless Monday, March 23 Recap: Chelsea Goes Full Newman Against Billy

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Monday, March 23, reveals that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will unleash her fury and prove she’s a true Newman while Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) puts her freedom on the line.

At Society, Chelsea will bump into Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and manage to have a civil conversation with him until she overhears his phone call with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

After Billy mentions Sally folding her new acquisition into Spectra-Charles, Chelsea will accuse him of rubbing his Newman Media victory in her face.

Chelsea will make it clear that she’s one of the Newmans now and that she won’t stand for attacks on Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

Billy will question if Chelsea was in on Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) abduction and will act like she’s reverting to the same conniving woman she was when they met.

Chelsea will lash out and warn that Billy’s fight is with her now.

After Chelsea says Adam is off helping his family, she’ll take a jab at Billy for moping around feeling sorry for himself.

Chelsea will dial it down a bit and apologize for that last part, but she’ll still want Billy to focus on his own life and stay out of hers.

In Las Vegas, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will be impatient as Adam leaves Riza Thomson (Tina Casciani) another voicemail.

Riza will eventually call Adam back, so he’ll play it like he just wants to catch up and will invite her to his hotel suite.

Nick will worry about bad memories being stirred up for his brother, but Adam will refuse to bail on him.

Since Nick will seem agitated and like he’s dealing with more leg pain, Adam will be concerned.

Adam will also point out that Nick’s being an “ass,” so he won’t think Nick should be talking to Riza or anyone else.

That’s why Adam will want to stick around and help Nick deal with all this, so Nick will appreciate it.

Adam will make Nick promise he won’t go looking for Matt on his own before he pours himself a drink and waits for Riza alone.

Riza will arrive soon after and pull a gun on “Spider,” so he’ll definitely be caught off guard.

Next on Monday’s Y&R episode, Nick will be visibly struggling with his pain and emotions in the elevator, so he’ll get out his fentanyl bag and take one of them.

Back in Genoa City, Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) will discuss plea deal news with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).

If Mariah accepts the deal when she goes before the judge tomorrow, she’ll be looking at probation and treatment in a psychiatric facility.

Unfortunately, Mariah will still feel like she deserves to be punished, so Christine will warn that she could face 15 years in prison if Sharon doesn’t get through to her.

At the park café, Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will bump into Mariah, who’ll ask about her family and push him to admit he’s romantically involved with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks).

Mariah will insist she’s fine with it and will argue that it’s best if everyone moves on.

Daniel will end up asking Mariah if she still loves Tessa and will suggest that’s the only thing that matters.

Mariah will finally let her guard down and cry over what she’s done.

After Mariah admits how much she loves and misses her family, Daniel will pull her into a comforting embrace.

Once Mariah puts her walls back up and rushes off, Daniel will call Tessa and request a meeting.

After Tessa joins Daniel, he’ll bring her up to speed on what happened with Mariah.

Daniel will acknowledge that Mariah admitted she’s lost without Tessa and Aria Porter-Copeland (Maddie and Millie Ingle).

Tessa will struggle over the idea of Mariah finally missing her family after all this time, but Daniel will still think there’s a lingering love and connection.

Since Daniel will want Tessa to be with the person she loves most in this world, he’ll feel like she has to at least try to save her marriage and figure out what’s in her heart.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon and Christine will corner Mariah, who’ll stand her ground on not deserving the lenient plea deal after kidnapping Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark).

However, Mariah will suddenly seem a little more hopeful after she gets a text from Tessa asking if they can meet.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Tessa and Mariah will have a lot to talk about, so stay tuned.
