The Young and the Restless Monday, March 9 Recap: Phyllis Offers Victor 4 Hostage Deal – Patty Rejects Jack’s Plan
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Monday, March 9, reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will have a proposal for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) while Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) is forced to turn down Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) pitch.
On the yacht in Monday’s Y&R episode, Patty will insist she’s been rehabilitated, but Jack will obviously be skeptical.
Even so, Patty will talk about all the work she did on herself and how she’s now seeking redemption.
Patty will want to help Jack heal too and will hope for his forgiveness.
After Patty leaves Jack alone for a bit, she’ll return with a food and beverage cart.
Jack will be reluctant to consume anything, but Patty will taste everything first so he can be sure he’s not being poisoned.
Once Jack admits he’s made mistakes in his past, he’ll act like he could possibly find his way to forgiving Patty for her own.
However, Jack will need Patty to prove her desire for redemption with her actions and not just words.
After Jack suggests they can go to shore together and then go their separate ways, Patty will apologize to Jack since they can’t do that.
When Jack questions why not, Patty will confess she’s not the one in charge here.
Back in Genoa City, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will inform Phyllis that Jack has been kidnapped and push her to get his contract locked in so he can give Chancellor to Victor.
Phyllis will insist Victor’s just throwing a tantrum, but Billy will insist Phyllis had better make this Chancellor contract happen in an hour or else!
Afterward, Billy will join Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) at Society.
Kyle and Diane will be frustrated over Phyllis dragging her feet on helping Jack, but Billy will point out they still don’t have proof of the kidnapping.
Once Billy starts whining about having to give up Chancellor again, Kyle and Diane will shut down his pity party since Jack’s freedom is what matters.
Billy will eventually text Victor with the promise of getting Chancellor back to him if he’ll provide proof that he has Jack.
An unknown number will text back with a photo of Jack unconscious yesterday and a “your move” message.
At the Newman ranch, Phyllis will let Victor know that she’s in charge of Chancellor, not Billy.
That’s why Phyllis will expect Victor to negotiate directly with her.
Victor will make it clear this is not a negotiation and wonder if Phyllis is really going to risk him hurting her ex-husband.
Phyllis will doubt that Victor actually will, but she’ll admit she doesn’t want to be responsible for something happening to Jack.
After Phyllis says she’s willing to give up Chancellor in exchange for Jack, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and the twins, Victor will wonder what’s really in it for her.
Phyllis will act like she’s a good person who’s protecting Jack, but Victor won’t buy that.
Once Phyllis acknowledges that she’s hopeful about making amends with her children, she’ll push Victor to strike the deal.
Victor will suggest Phyllis should give him an hour, draw up the paperwork and then they’ll see.
If Phyllis attempts to make any further negotiations, Victor will make it clear that the deal is off.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack’s yacht drama will continue in the meantime, so stay tuned.
