General Hospital Thursday, February 26 Recap: Sidwell Shocks Drew, Reveals He’s Behind Willow’s Paralysis Plot
General Hospital (GH) recap for Thursday, February 26, indicates that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) revealed a shocking secret regarding Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) current crisis. Drama played out all over Port Charles, so here’s how Thursday’s episode went down.
At her apartment, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) accidentally called Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) number and quickly hung up.
While Trina filled Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) in on her blunder, Portia noticed the call and spoke to Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) about it in her office.
Portia opened up to Isaiah about the tough situation with Trina.
Isaiah worried Trina had a problem with them living together, but he didn’t mind skipping steps with Portia and liked where their relationship was headed.
Isaiah eventually paid Trina a visit, but she insisted she wasn’t going to offer her blessing.
Even so, Isaiah pushed Trina to consider what their fractured mother-daughter bond was doing to Portia and suspected she didn’t want her mom to be unhappy and alone.
While Trina decided to go see Portia at GH, Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) showed up in Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) office and said Sidwell expected her to announce Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) as Drew’s replacement.
Laura protested since an announcement involving Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was already happening today, but Ezra insisted the press conference had been moved up and that Willow was taking over Drew’s Congress seat instead.
Ezra thought they were both in the same dangerous boat and pushed Laura to accept the situation.
Laura refused and made it seem like she was going to announce Alexis anyway since Willow would only be Sidwell’s puppet.
At Willow’s house, Sidwell stopped by to discuss the press conference and rejected Willow’s attempt to decline Drew’s Congress seat.
Sidwell insisted he’d handled Laura and that Willow’s refusal wasn’t an option.
All Willow needed to understand was that Sidwell could blow up her life with her children if she didn’t do what she was told.
Sidwell hinted about everything he’d done for Willow, who later donned a new suit for the press conference and got a hug from Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) over her decision.
After Nina and Willow headed out, Sidwell entered Drew’s room and dismissed his attempt to blink SOS.
Sidwell insisted he knew Willow was responsible for Drew’s predicament and revealed that she couldn’t have done it without him!
It turns out Sidwell put it together that Willow was Drew’s shooter.
Drew’s courtroom outburst convinced Sidwell that Drew was too much of a liability, so he teamed up with Willow on a new plan.
Sidwell offered access to the undetectable paralytic that mimicked a stroke and kept Drew in this locked-in state.
It was also revealed that distressed Drew’s caregivers were being paid to look the other way.
Sidwell made it clear that further attempts at an SOS could diminish his life expectancy.
Besides, Sidwell didn’t think anyone would want to help Drew considering all the people he’d riled up in town.
As for Sidwell’s deal with Willow, he thought it was a good arrangement since she had partial custody of her kids while he had someone more pliant in Drew’s Congress seat.
After Sidwell gloated about Willow stealing Drew’s spot, he held his phone screen up for Drew so that he could watch the livestream of the press conference.
At the law office, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) told Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) about accepting the Congresswoman gig and got some help prepping for reporters’ questions.
Alexis called Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and gave him a heads-up on her Congress seat takeover news.
Sonny told Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and worried about Laura putting herself in a risky position since she was still being blackmailed by Sidwell.
Jason also told Sonny about Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) being way more dangerous than Sidwell, who had an ego and was easily distracted.
Even Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) was concerned about Cullum, so Jason hinted about capitalizing on that.
Sonny realized killing Cullum had become a more pressing issue for Jason, who mentioned that Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) might be able to score Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) medication dose so they could reverse engineer it.
Once Britt’s medicine situation was taken care of, Jason could wipe Cullum off the map and pave the way for Brennan to handle Sidwell.
After Alexis learned the press conference was happening sooner than planned, she assumed maybe Laura was holding another one about something else.
However, Laura announced Willow as Drew’s replacement instead and left Alexis reeling along with Diane.
Sonny and Jason also watched the livestream, so Sonny guessed that Sidwell cut Laura off at the pass.
Willow stepped up to the podium and acknowledged that she was new to politics.
Nevertheless, Willow insisted that as a nurse and mother, taking care of people is what she did best.
As Nina beamed next to Willow, Laura looked uneasy nearby.
Willow insisted it was her honor to continue her husband’s good work in Washington, so Sidwell’s plan paid off in the end.
General Hospital spoilers say Sidwell will continue to control Willow and put her in tight spots, so stay tuned.
