Now that Cane has lost control of Newman Enterprises, he can’t trade it to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) as planned.

Cane was hoping to get his family safely returned, but Phyllis’ chloroform chaos threw everything off track.

Unfortunately, it looks like Victor will refuse to budge when it comes to his demands.

Unless Cane can deliver the company as promised, Victor may insist Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and the twins will remain off the grid.

In other words, instead of Victor dealing with Phyllis and trying to get Newman back from her, Victor may task Cane with doing it for him!

Cane will be highly motivated to make it happen since he’ll want to make sure Lily, Mattie Ashby (last played by Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie Ashby (last played by Noah Alexander Gerry) gain their freedom.

Plus, Cane will want revenge on Phyllis for her betrayal, so Victor may feel confident Cane can figure this out and come through on signing over Newman eventually.

Of course, Lily and the twins aren’t really in harm’s way, but Cane isn’t taking any chances when it comes to the trio.

Victor still has an advantage as long as Cane keeps believing Lily, Charlie and Mattie are in trouble.

On February 19, Y&R spoilers say Cane will put a surprising plot in motion.

That’s when Cane will seek out a new ally who could help him get the upper hand on Phyllis.

Cane will turn to Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) for help, but he may struggle to get Phyllis’ son on board.

Daniel already has a lot going on when it comes to supporting Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), so he may be wary of committing to something else.

Besides, Daniel may not like the idea of helping Cane when he’s the one who started this whole mess.

If Cane hadn’t had the AI program made and fueled Phyllis’ quest for power, then none of them would be in this predicament.

Cane may admit he’s made some big mistakes and perhaps underestimated Phyllis when he shouldn’t have.

However, the most important thing to Cane will be making sure Lily and the twins get out of Victor’s grasp.

Daniel still cares about Lily and her kids as well, so that may be the deciding factor for him.

If Daniel can help Cane free his family and teach Phyllis a lesson in the process, Daniel may determine that he can get behind all that.

Cane may count on Daniel to help him set a trap for Phyllis and try to get her to surrender Newman control.
