The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) might shake up Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) mental institution stay. Will these two patients collide for a new story?

Stacy Haiduk will indeed kick off a return stint as Patty this March, so we can go ahead and start speculating about what’s in store.

Y&R fans can expect a mystery arc that’s full of curveballs and some troublemaking.

Patty has had her fair share of mental health problems, but now Mariah has plenty of her own.

It’s tough to imagine prison is really in Mariah’s future when she’s having visions of Ian Ward (Ray Wise) and showing obvious signs of a mental break.

Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) will serve as Mariah’s attorney and will surely fight hard to make sure her client doesn’t land behind bars.

Mariah belongs in a psychiatric facility so she can get the help she needs.

The clinic in Boston didn’t do Mariah any good, but maybe her doctors were incompetent and unaware of just how far off the rails her mind had gone.

Whatever the case, Mariah needs to be locked up for a while following all this Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark) kidnapping drama, but let’s hope it doesn’t involve a prison cell.

Mariah may end up forced into a mental institution instead, so that could easily pave the way for Patty’s reintroduction to the show.

Patty was still institutionalized the last anyone heard, so she may pop up and catch Mariah off guard when they have their first encounter.

It seems likely Patty will want to befriend Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) daughter and perhaps commiserate with Mariah over Ian since she’s got her own past with him.

Ian gasped for air and opened his eyes in the back of an ambulance when fans last saw the real version of him.

That means Ian could secretly be alive despite what everyone in Genoa City believes.

Maybe Patty and Mariah could be part of an Ian mystery if he comes after them. If not, viewers might see Patty manipulate Mariah as part of her own escape plan.

Regardless, Mariah is likely on the verge of a mental institution stint and Patty is currently in one, so it makes sense that they’re going to collide at some point.
