Watch out, Genoa City, because one of the town’s most unhinged baddies is coming back! TV Insider is reporting that Stacy Haiduk is about to bring Paul’s unstable little sister, Patty Williams back to The Young and the Restless for the first time since 2016.

We suppose it isn’t a huge surprise since, when last we saw her, she was trying to flee town with Mariah’s current imaginary tormenter Ian Ward. Patty didn’t quite escape, though, and ended up tossed back into a mental institution, where we would hope she got help.

Because while she’s definitely one of the more notorious villains of the show, there’s always a tragic element to Patty’s appearances as she has clear mental issues, from her obsession with Jack (her first husband who had an affair with his current-wife, Diane) to her stuffed cat (as in taxidermied, not a toy) Mr. Kitty who went everywhere with her.

She’s had plastic surgery to look like a psychiatrist she met, Dr. Emily Peterson, gone through elaborate ruses and disguises to follow Jack around and nearly killed Summer when she was a child! In fact, it wasn’t that long ago that Patty was mentioned as Nick and Phyllis thought back to all the trauma Summer had been through and recalled Patty, then pretending to be Mary Jane Benson ate peanut butter and kissed a very allergic Summer, sending her to the hospital.

At the moment, of course, Haiduk is busy as ever over on Days of Our Lives playing both Kristen DiMera and, from time to time, her wacky lookalike, Susan Banks. The actress took over the role back in 2018 from fellow Young & Restless performer Eileen Davidson (Ashley), but it sounds like we’ve got no reason to worry about losing her in Salem. Sony produces both sudsers, which gives them some leeway for actors to bounce back and forth between the two. Kristen, TV Insider shared, isn’t going anywhere.

There’s no hint just yet as to what storyline will bring Patty back on our screens, but since she’s been in an institution, rather than dead, we’re expecting her to be back, in the flesh, and causing real trouble once again!
