The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that we have to ask: Is Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) faking her health relapse? Is this part of a drastic plan to manipulate Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn)?

Snapper Foster (last played by David Hasselhoff) could be in on the plot since he’s the one who gave Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) updates on Jill taking a turn for the worse.

Sally gave Billy the scoop soon after, which led to him calling Jill on the phone.

Billy was softer than he’d been in a long time and even called her “Mom” instead of Jill like he did when they were fighting.

Once Billy got a reminder that he could lose his estranged mother, it was a big wake-up call.

Billy and Jill had a tender conversation, so there was definitely an emotional thaw between them.

Suddenly, Billy wasn’t so enthusiastic about snatching back Chancellor with Cane’s help anymore.

It was hard for Billy to be in a celebratory mood when he was worried about Jill’s heart giving out.

In fact, Billy suggested it’d easier if none of this takeover drama was happening – though he ultimately assured Cane that he was still all in on their joint win over Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

Billy at least wants Cane to hold off on publicly gloating about his Newman takeover and Billy’s Chancellor grab.

However, we have to consider if Jill might already know and be manipulating the situation. The timing is awfully suspicious when you think about it!

Jill urged Billy not to come see her, so what if that’s really because she’s faking her medical setback?

We wouldn’t put it past Jill to stoop to this level since Cane, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Billy have already been stooping pretty low themselves.

Plus, if Jill is in such bad shape, why isn’t she in the hospital?

That’s something Cane was perplexed about – and it’s something Y&R fans have questions about, too.

Victor supposedly got the same health setback story from Snapper, but what if he’s just playing along with her plan?

It’s possible Jill and Victor are working together on one angle while he continues to explore others.

Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will pass along some Jill-related news to Billy during the week of February 2-6.

What if Lauren is unaware that Jill is supposedly quite ill and perhaps catches up with her off-screen?

Lauren could happily chirp to Billy about what a fun time they had and leave him wondering what’s up.

Maybe a confused Lauren could confirm that Jill seemed fine and leave Billy feeling betrayed all over again.

Was Jill hoping that her fake health setback would convince Billy to drop his Chancellor pursuit?

Was Jill thinking it might give Cane some second thoughts as well?
