General Hospital Thursday, January, 22 Recap: Willow Sobs Over Drew’s Unlikely Recovery – Scout’s Moving In with Alexis

General Hospital (GH) recap for Thursday, January 22, reveals that Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) sobbed over Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) unlikely recovery after it was decided that Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) was moving in with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn).

At the PCPD, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) sat down with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) in the interrogation room, where he revealed the outcome of Internal Affairs’ investigation.

Although Chase violated policy, there was no evidence of corruption and he hadn’t broken any laws.

Dante revealed that Chase wasn’t being fired, but he was being demoted and would have to go back to being an officer on patrol.

Chase flew off the handle, but Dante felt there had to be consequences and suggested he could work his way up to being a detective again.

However, Chase felt he was being punished for being right about the Willow case.

Dante stood his ground and left the decision up to Chase when it came to whether he’d accept this demotion.

As Chase stormed out, he told Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) he might want to start looking for a new partner.

Nathan got the scoop on everything and learned Dante would be leaning on him more now that Chase was no longer a detective.

At Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) apartment, she was stunned when Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) showed up in person to tell her she’d been deactivated and that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) was their new asset on Spoon Island.

Josslyn protested, but Brennan spilled about Director Ross Cullum’s (Andrew Hawkes) arrival from the European division.

Brennan had kept Josslyn’s identity and all her details sealed in a dossier since he knew she’d be expendable to someone like Cullum.

Josslyn was now on sleeper status and urged to distance herself from Lucas Jones (Van Hansis), but Joss immediately headed to GH under the guise of helping Lucas and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) make peace.

Lucas invited Josslyn to Wyndemere after his rounds and mentioned Pascal (Marc Forget) was out of town, so Josslyn accepted the invitation.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) offered to be Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) alibi for whatever he did to Drew, but Jason was adamant that he didn’t cause his brother’s stroke.

Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) heard the Drew news later and worried about Scout.

Since Danny wanted to see his sister, Jason thought Alexis might be able to help.

At Bobbie’s, Britt came downstairs and spotted Cullum as he met with Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening).

Cullum had questions about Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) disappearance, but Lulu just assumed he bolted after the break-in and Rocco frame-up drama.

Cullum passed along his card in case Lulu and Rocco recalled anything else they could pass along.

Nearby, Britt informed Carly that she wanted to tell her in person that she was moving out of that slum.

Britt insulted the place and brought Bobbie Spencer’s (Jacklyn Zeman) name into it, so Carly quickly got riled up.

It turned into a Jason-related argument as Cullum hovered and rattled Britt.

As Britt kept pushing Carly’s buttons, Carly finally realized she baited her into this fight and wanted some answers about why.

Britt denied provoking Carly into this faceoff and ranted about Jason’s obligation to her.

When Jason interrupted, Britt snapped that Carly just reminded her why she wanted nothing to do with him.

In Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) office, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) showed up to check on her now that Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and Ace Cassadine (Karis and Kiernan Barry) were living in Dublin.

Later, Lulu arrived with some updates that left Laura uneasy.

Laura was secretly distressed as she learned Cullum had been quizzing Lulu and Rocco about Professor Dalton’s vanishing act.

Chase wound up back at the Quartermaine mansion, where he threw Tracy’s backgammon set across the room.

Tracy found Chase cleaning it up and learned what happened, so she responded with compassion and felt he had a lot to talk about with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).

Meanwhile, Willow headed to Alexis’ office, where she revealed Drew’s stroke and wondered how to handle things with Scout.

Alexis thought she should tell Scout what happened and felt it’d be best if her granddaughter moved in with her for now.

Willow agreed with all that before Alexis mentioned the possibility of Scout seeing Danny.

Although Willow knew about Scout’s previous visit with her brother and left Drew out of the loop, she was wary of allowing more visits since Drew could find out when he woke up.

Alexis suggested they could revisit the discussion once they knew more about Drew’s prognosis, so Willow was on board with that.

Danny came to Alexis later hoping she could talk to Willow about him seeing Scout.

Alexis admitted she already did and that the timing wasn’t right yet, but she gave Danny some hope for the future.

At GH, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) had a conversation with Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) about the good and the bad sides of Drew.

Although Nina couldn’t really cut ties with Willow’s husband, she suggested maybe Drew’s medical crisis could change him.

Kai doubted that since getting shot didn’t affect Drew’s way of thinking.

Even so, Nina advised Kai not to rush into quitting his position in Drew’s office since he could perhaps keep doing some good there.

Once Willow appeared, she told Nina about her Scout decision and gave Kai the signature he needed for a Drew-related statement to the media.

After Lucas’ meeting with the neurologist, he told Willow about the severity of Drew’s stroke.

Drew would need extensive therapy for his speech and motor skills, but Willow knew that a full recovery – though not impossible – was unlikely.

Willow sobbed as she continued to play the part of an upset wife.

Nina worried Willow might be forgiving Drew or starting to love him again, but Willow privately told her that she just wanted to make sure her husband got the treatment he deserved.

General Hospital spoilers say Willow will make some other shocking moves as this story moves along, so stay tuned.
