The Young and the Restless Friday, January 16 Recap: Matt Unconscious in Nick’s Trunk
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, January 16, reveals that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will be unconscious in Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) trunk after Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) surrenders his hostage.
During Diane Jenkins Abbott’s (Susan Walters) meeting with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), she’ll realize Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is indeed dealing with an AI attack and not focused on Jabot at all.
At the Abbott mansion, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will talk to Jack about the threat hopefully being over and wonder if they should take a chance by putting Jabot back online.
Once Nick shows up on Friday’s Y&R episode, he’ll admit he’s there for Matt.
Nick will have concerns since Matt wasn’t in the location where the Newman security team tracked him to.
Jack will acknowledge that Victor isn’t always two steps ahead like he thinks he is.
Although Jack will confirm that Matt is indeed secure, Nick will rant about Matt being a psychopath and worry he could escape.
Nick will bring up the fact that Matt could go after Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) or even Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) as he works to convince Jack to hand him over.
Although Nick won’t want to talk about his family’s business drama, Jack will point out that they were trying to strike a deal with Victor when he got a text that rattled him.
In the end, Nick will vow to make the deal that Victor didn’t. If Nick gets Matt, he’ll be willing to give Jack his word that there’ll be no more Jabot threats or attacks.
Nick will also point out that if Matt got loose and someone else got hurt, Jack would never forgive himself.
After Jack decides to surrender Matt to Nick, he’ll talk about that decision with Kyle and Diane.
Although Diane will be eager to get Jabot back online, Jack will want to wait and make sure it’s safe first.
At Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) place, Nick will gather rope and some other supplies.
After Nick takes off, Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) will come downstairs after hearing a noise and will end up following his dad.
On the side of the road, Nick will open the trunk and reveal an unconscious Matt, who’ll be bound and gagged. When Noah arrives, he’ll reel at the sight of Matt and ask if he’s dead.
Once Noah realizes Matt is still alive, he’ll throw questions at Nick and learn about the deal he made with the Abbotts.
Nick will shut down the idea of handing Matt over to the cops, so Noah will demand to know what his dad plans to do with him.
After Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) take their argument back home, he’ll assure her that he didn’t accept Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) Chancellor offer yet and wants her input before he decides.
Sally will feel like Billy is just going to do whatever he wants anyway.
There’ll be some friction over Billy going back down a vengeful road and making himself Victor’s payback target, too.
However, Billy won’t think he should make choices based on avoiding conflict when the conflict is always going to be unavoidable with Victor.
Sally will bring up Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) and how she’ll react, but Billy will get riled up and insist he doesn’t care.
As Sally worries about how all this will affect their relationship, she’ll feel like Billy’s still sneaking around and putting revenge first.
Billy will keep defending himself, but Sally will think accepting Cane’s offer would be the biggest mistake he ever made.
Sally will also make it known that if Billy does go through with this, she will NOT be happy!
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally and Billy will have more relationship issues to work through.
