General Hospital Wednesday, January 14 Recap: Brennan’s Gun Stuns Carly, Sidwell’s Wild Associate, Ava Exposes Valentin

General Hospital (GH) recap for Wednesday, January 14, reveals that Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) gun stunned Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) while Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) wild associate came into play.

Ava Jerome (Maura West) also exposed Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) Wyndemere presence to Sidwell, so here’s how it all went down.

In the bathroom of Brennan’s suite, Carly listened as Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) complained about the new lab being on Spoon Island and how she couldn’t get Brennan the data he wanted.

Brennan made it clear that Britt needed to find a solution and sent her on her way.

After Brennan heard a noise, he pulled a gun on Carly in the bathroom and demanded to know what she was doing there.

While wearing a robe, Carly scrambled to explain that she wanted to give Brennan a sizzling surprise and hoped he wouldn’t be angry with her.

Brennan calmed down, but he insisted Carly couldn’t do things like this when dangerous Valentin was on the loose.

After Brennan hugged Carly, he got a work-related message and had to delay their time together.

At Wyndemere, Valentin pretended he went way back with Sidwell, but he urged Ava Jerome (Maura West) not to mention their encounter since he didn’t want one of Sidwell’s typical scoldings.

Ava turned away for a moment to call out for Pascal (Marc Forget), so Valentin quickly vanished on her.

Down in the area where Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was being held prisoner, a man wearing a suit popped up behind her.

Anna had the upper hand on Pascal, but she quickly lost it when this other guy put her in a chokehold until she passed out.

This mystery man soon lashed out at Pascal for falling for Anna’s trick and then talked to Sidwell about needing to move Anna to another location.

There was also some debate about whether Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) should be restricted to Spoon Island, but Sidwell’s apparent partner felt it’d cause too many problems if Britt vanished from her life again.

Pascal tried to get rid of Ava on Sidwell’s orders, but she insisted on speaking to him about his “houseguest.”

Sidwell came back up and quizzed Ava, who offered updates on her encounter with Valentin.

Sidwell admitted that he wasn’t aware Valentin was on the property and confirmed the sneaky Cassadine’s story had been bogus.

After Sidwell vowed to do a sweep of the grounds, he admitted he wanted to leave the police out of it and asked Ava not to mention this Valentin sighting to anyone.

Ava smiled and assured Sidwell that he could count on her.

Once Pascal returned to Anna, he watched as she passed out for real this time.

Pascal assumed Anna was faking it again and refused to help her.

Anna eventually regained consciousness, but she looked weak and had a nosebleed.

Back with Brennan, he opened his suite door to the same guy who was working with Sidwell earlier.

The mystery man was revealed to be WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), who showed up with bad news and claimed Anna had been lost.

In Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) office, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) confronted her about going after Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) as part of her defense of Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) in court.

Alexis made it clear that she did what she had to do for Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) access and to prevent Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) from brainwashing her against her family.

Sonny ultimately assured Alexis that they were still friends, even if he wasn’t happy about how things went down in court.

As for the topic of whether Willow was actually guilty or not, Sonny didn’t think she was capable of shooting Drew.

That said, Sonny admitted there was a thin line between love and hate before adding that even good people could do bad things.

At GH, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) spoke with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), who hoped he wasn’t upset with her.

Liz knew some people thought she was siding with Willow and going against Michael as a result.

Jason didn’t feel that way and basically acknowledged that Drew was the real problem.

Next, Jason crossed paths with Brad Cooper (Parry Shen), who pushed Jason to stay away from Britt and stop making her think she could be a priority for him.

Jason didn’t think this was up to Brad and made a pitch for an “official date” tonight with Britt once she interrupted.

As for Liz, she pushed Brad to back off – even if she also thought Jason and Britt’s connection would end in disaster.

In Carly’s attic, she reconvened with Valentin and shared the document pics she snapped along with what she overheard while hiding in the bathroom.

Carly panicked when Valentin admitted he’d had a run-in with Ava at Wyndemere, but he downplayed and doubted Sidwell would want to involve the cops if he found out.

General Hospital spoilers say Valentin and Carly’s alliance will come with more curveballs, so stay tuned.
