Sister Wives star Meri Brown hit the screen smiling and laughing on the new season opener and viewers say they found her good mood contagious. Many found themselves laughing along with Meri and some believe she stole the show. They also seemed thrilled to see the first spouse spark back to life.

Sister Wives: Meri Brown Loses Dark Cloud

The cloud of gloom and doom that seemed to hang over Meri Brown’s head disappeared. Over the last few TLC seasons, smiles for the first of the Sister Wives were at a minimum. Today she’s even laughing at herself and the fans noticed the huge change.

According to fans, sad Meri is gone. Instead, they saw a seemingly more self-assured Meri Brown. The original matriarch of the Sister Wives still had a few serious moments with appropriate tears. But she tickled watchers with her jokes as Kody Brown and her co-Sister Wives battled over Coyote Pass land.

One-Liners Kept Them Laughing

Meri looks into the Sister Wives camera and talks about the pond at Coyote Pass. She says, “it sounds like [he] wants the pond or Janelle wants [him] to have the pond, or somebody wants Kody to have the pond” and then she laughs.

But she did let everyone know the now-famous water feature didn’t interest her. She doesn’t see herself swimming there and said “ewww” about it. The real estate agent told the family members from Sister Wives there was ick in the pondwater a couple of years back.

It is only a pond when it fills with water after it rains. The rest of the time it’s a dry pond bed. But when it does fill, it contains more than water. The streams of rain run-off contain a lot of cow poop that flows into the pond. Their Sister Wives land also is home to an abundance of rodent-like prairie dogs.

So, that is something to consider, as those droppings find their way into the water as well. Sister Wives ‘ Meri jokes about Kody’s lack of visitation to her home. She quips how she might get him to visit if she has the pond. Then, when Kody introduces all four of his wives to Mike, again, Meri laughs.

She explains in a joking manner how anytime Kody introduces her as a wife — she’s good with that. But she wants him to follow through and “be as such”. She jokes about her struggles to get Kody Brown to notice her. And she said she wants her marriage back on track, especially with romance and intimacy. But her husband taps the brakes.

Sister Wives: Serious Side of Meri Blew Fans Away

Meri wasn’t all jokes and one-liners on the Sister Wives season opener. She shared some serious thoughts as well. At one point, Meri Brown explained how, as women in a plural marriage, the Sister Wives should have each other’s backs. But she admits that sometimes they don’t.

Meri Brown also stood up for Christine Brown when Kody blindsided her by switching land parcels. Christine thought the location of her future Coyote Pass house was firm. But now it’s changed. Kody now tells Christine that the lot she thought was hers is not. So the first of the Sister Wives empathized with Christine.
