The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) may meet a new boyfriend while she’s out of town. Will Lily return to Genoa City with Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) competition?

After the New Year’s Eve kiss they shared, Cane was blindsided over Lily’s sudden decision to leave GC and get away from him.

Lily doesn’t think things can go back to how they were before, so she’s putting some distance between them.

After Lily announced that she was going to see Mattie Ashby (last played by Lexie Stevenson), she admitted she didn’t know when she’d be back.

Lily’s focus right now is forcing Cane to respect boundaries by making sure they’re many miles apart.

Of course, there’s another reason why Y&R is suddenly pumping the brakes on Lily and Cane’s reunion story.

This is really about Christel Khalil’s maternity leave, so fans will just have to be patient when it comes to her return to the role of Lily.

That said, it’s good to know Khalil’s exit is temporary since we can go ahead and start speculating about Lily’s eventual return.

Lily will have plenty of time to clear her head and perhaps plenty of time to meet another man to fall for!

Since the twins have totally cut ties with Cane, they’re obviously not rooting for him to win Lily back.

During their upcoming visit, we could imagine Mattie pushing Lily to put herself back in the dating game and move on with someone else.

Mattie might think that would send a clear message to Cane and give Lily another chance at happiness, too.

Lily might meet someone new off-screen and experience some flying sparks.

In some ways, it seems like Lily panicked over that lip lock with Cane.

Lily perhaps felt a flood of overwhelming feelings come rushing back – feelings that she now wants to run from.

As part of that plan to deny what’s in her heart, Lily could go as far as getting together with another guy.

Can you imagine Cane’s shock, pain and anger if Lily comes home with a brand-new man on her arm?

Cane might get updates on Lily’s comeback news down the road and hope that she’s had time to rethink their future.

Perhaps Cane could be in for a rude awakening if Lily returns with Cane’s competition instead!

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Lily and Cane’s story isn’t over yet, but there’ll be more obstacles and maybe even some interlopers to make things messy.
